Title: I never thought i would be sein this (wttj on cartoon network) Post by: norway on February 14, 2005, 09:28:42 AM Cartoon Network in the UK (Sky Channel 601) have been showing adverts for a new cartoon series called The Cramp Twins. The background music being used for this is GN'R's "Welcome To The Jungle".

You can't use music as high profile as GN'R's in adverts without permission. They would definately had to ask permission. The fact that they are using it may have something to do with the new publishing deal which Axl recently signed, allowing for use of GN'R's material. Title: Re: I never thought i would be sein this (wttj on cartoon network) Post by: Saul on February 14, 2005, 12:00:20 PM I remember WTTJ was in the Simpsons with the octuplets in the zoo but what other episode was it in ??? :smoking: Izzy :smoking: The episode that was a spoof of "thelma and louise" where marge goes out riding in car with their new neighbour lady and end up getting chased by a hoard of police cars .. in the end wiggum and homer drive over the edge of the chasm and land in a wastefill. homer: lovely wastefill .. I could kiss you! WTTJ was played right when marge 1st got in the car .. her friend says "this night is all about ... *inserts cassete tape* rainbows and lollipops and.. "thats not it" *flips tape* welcome to the jungle , we got fun and games! .. and then they speed off! Great episode! Axl's put Welcome to the Jungle on loads of things now, remember the San Andreas advert, he did the voice of some radio guy in the game aswell, he's getting pretty desprete if you ask me :-\ which you didn't ;D :smoking: Izzy? :smoking: Title: Re: I never thought i would be sein this (wttj on cartoon network) Post by: norway on February 14, 2005, 01:12:26 PM so.. axl wouldnt let wttj be used for black hawk down but he'd let it be used for a 2nd rate cartoon like the cramp twins? i find that hard to believe.. i read that axl gave them a rerecorded version, but since BHD is based on true story--they (filmakers) wanted it as authentic as possible, it's on this page? : ok: ... somewhere? :coffee: Title: Re: I never thought i would be sein this (wttj on cartoon network) Post by: Dust N Rose on February 14, 2005, 01:14:15 PM I've heard many times WTTJ backround music in the game network channel.
I also remember a topic in a major TV channel about the crime. Somewhere in the beggining of the show they did a representation of a crime in the streets and they had Paradise City in backround music. ;D Title: Re: I never thought i would be sein this (wttj on cartoon network) Post by: *Izzy* on February 14, 2005, 01:23:11 PM How long does the music last on the Cartoon Network thing, I heard? some where that you don't have to pay for a song if you use less than 35 seconds of it or something like that ???
Anyway what were you doing watching cartoon network :hihi: . Seriously though how long is this advert? :smoking: Izzy :smoking: Title: Re: I never thought i would be sein this (wttj on cartoon network) Post by: norway on February 14, 2005, 01:27:34 PM Anyway what were you doing watching cartoon network :hihi: . ask jarmo (webmaster)? :hihi: he's the one who posted this? I see it as gnr's impact on our culture---that they're songs stand the test of time, that they're recongnizable, and catchy! just as long as they don't start putting thier songs out to help sell Mc Donalds/cars/etc...then I'll be happy (or if any members appear in "the surreal life"...hehe) Title: Re: I never thought i would be sein this (wttj on cartoon network) Post by: *Izzy* on February 15, 2005, 05:02:32 PM I see it as gnr's impact on our culture---that they're songs stand the test of time, that they're recongnizable, and catchy! just as long as they don't start putting thier songs out to help sell Mc Donalds/cars/etc...then I'll be happy (Cheesy Voice) Now the new Quarter Pounder with Cheese comes with a free Coke.
