Anthem for the year 2000 was a good song as was the song that stole the Paradise City drum beat, what ever that track was called

Apart from that they aren't anything special but i'd go 'older era' to keep on topic

Their early stuff was very derivatve of the Seattle sound. In recent times I think they've started to stretch out a bit - I think Daniel Johns is pretty talented but the band have always collectively produced mediocre albums that don't add up to more than the sum of their parts

I actually Just pulled out some Silverchair after a few years and am loving it!!!! So i decided to look up current info on them. I didn't realize that they had an album after Neon Ballroom.

What's wrong with Diorama? how is Daniel's guitar work on it? I looked for it but haven't found it yet for sale here in Canada, was it only released in Australia?

Can someone give me a review of the album please.

Diorama is an experimental album with strings etc backing most songs.

Very successful and big album here in Australia. Johns couldn't tour though when it came out as he became ill, so although it was big here, it really could of been bigger.

I used to like Frogstomp when I was younger. I never got into their second album Freakshow. Neon Ballroom and Diorama are both a little above average albums.

They are reuniting after a break (which brought awful solo stuff from Johns with Paul Mac), with some love shows in March/April at some festivals, then going to write a new album.

Thanks gunnerdownunder. so is Diorama worthy to buy? After listening to Frogstomp, Freakshow and Neon Ballroom I'm pretty happy with their sound and the progression that the music takes from album to album.

I Love them all!!  Mainly because I am Aussie and therefore Bias towards any Aussie Bands.  But I think they are great.  I used to have the biggest crush on the drummer?!  :P  But Daniel Johns is awesome aswell.  : ok:

There is a video on the board somewhere of silverchair at rir commenting on GNR but the audience wasn't particuly interested!  >:(

I managed to find the newst album used for $7 so i bought it. Pretty  experimental for sure. I mean the song writing has progressed significantly through their whole catalogue but Diorama just seems like its gonna let loose but it never reaches that point. I'd have to say that Freaks is the best album by Silverchair
