Luckily I paid him with paypal and threatened to report him to e-bay and withdraw my payment and long and behold I had my dvd in a week.

Just get on his heels, hopefully he'll send your dvd.

He's actually turned it around to have people he ripped off, to get kicked off Ebay. So Ebay does not listen, or care. They care about the seller because he brings them big money, but they don't really care if you get ripped off.

It's stupid for anybody to post "Oh it's your fault if you got ripped off". What's a guy supposed to do, search all message boards for this guy first? You wouldn't like it if the shoe was on the other foot.

I'd post EVERYWHERE about this fucker. EVERYWHERE. Write your review on Ebay, complain to ebay, also remember it is MAIL FRAUD. One guy who got ripped off on another forum got the police involved and it turned out that the guy was on probation for mail fraud!

I don't care how pettty it is. Email the guy and tell him that you are (do you have his address?!!?? Even a PO box will trace him) calling the local police and pressing charges. It can take some time and persistence, but I'd do it. I've never been burned, but if I was I'd make sure the guy was sweating it somewhere and I'd drag his ass through the mud as much as I could.

Answer:E-bay does care and so does paypal...e-bay will suspend you and paypal will refund the money...Press charges for what? $16 i don't think so...You will get your dvd's if oi have to come give to you personally...

I always pay the moment I win my auctions and I expect my items to leave the seller's house or store in the next few days. Not a month later. Why should I pay him within 10 days after the auction then?

Maybe I should pay them when I receive the item.

Sometimes those just starting or looking to start their boot collection need to buy one or two to kick it off. How can you trade with nothing to trade?

TONS of full power audio freeware uploaded to newsgroups, Bittorrent, HUB etc. some people do B&P for other people aswell. you dont need to buy crap from this person. he is one of the few bad apples.

I posted on here a while ago asking if someone would help me out with a B+P to help me out kick off my boot collection, no response.

But yeah letting someone make a shitload from GNR boots at shitty prices isnt a good idea, and he is a bad apple, there are a couple of guys out there tho selling for a reasonable price.

Me.. im going to have to, to kick off my collection. Ive only got RIR3 DVD (which someone was nice enough to trade for my Pasedena CD), Unwanted Illusions and Pasadena 87 CDs :(

I too bought from Paul a little while ago after posting on here if anyone had a milton keynes dvd. I ended up buying from him about 3 weeks ago.
I will give him the benefit of the doubt and wait a while before i comment on him, if hes a little slow well then thats life if it doesnt turn up then different story.

I have also been waiting for over a month now for the Indianna 1991 DVD.  I previously bought the RIR 1991 three DVD set and Milton Keynes and got them after a couple of months.  

Another ebayer I am having a problem with is someone from Spain who has been deregistered and the email address I have doesn't work.  His user name was gamardvd (or something like that).  I bought the Argentina 1992 remastered DVD from him.

They (the people who lie and cheat on ebay) all sound identical. While reading this it reminded me of my car forum. The scam artists would say the same things: "Sorry, things happen. I especially ejoyed his response to the posts made about him . I was tempted to mail him a shovel to help him dig his own grave that little bit faster.
Ok first time u take a while to get stuff to people due to circumsances beyond your control is understandable and excused.
But to constantly , over and over again for months on end use the same lame ass excuse to everyone is pathetic.
US buyers seem to get a better deal than overseas buyers from this bullshit artist.

A lot of people should be getting their dvds soon after a chick in Australia contacted authorities in his state after trying to get a refund from paypal ( as the ass suggests to do if u cant wait ) except just try it and u will find he has drained his account.
He disappeared for a few months and appeared again recently. She contacted him ~ he refused refund, made same excuse he has made to  u on here , dvds were no longer needed after 3 months as she got them elsewhere by then.
He would not refund ~ she contacted myself and some others and told him he had to amend the situation before all the paperwork she was given to begin wire fraud ( among others) charges were filed.
He eventually sent a list with many peoples names who would be getting there dvds within the week. So hopefully some of u who have been waiting forever will have your dvds.

Oh and by the way ~ his claim that he owed money and thats why he gets unregistered or whatever it was he said ( too lazy to scroll back) is not entirely true. He constantly gets reported for listing bootlegs and by people who have previously made complaints. All ebay does is cancels the auctions but does not stop the same person from re registering ~ so i have been told.
As mentioned earlier also - bid on his auctions and he has to pay the fees. So he has probably clocked up a balance that needs to be pad with ebay also.

If he is unregistered within a certain amount of time u can not be legally held to the auction contract as there is no longer any security in the transaction... or something like that.

eBay doesn't give a shit. They make money off every single auction on their site. They act like they don't support this kind of sale (like "Bootlegs reporting" and whatever) but as long as they get money they will never stop that. I'm kinda surprised more serious action has not been taken yet.

He's selling under the_grinch_stole_axl for this week. He's got a ton of dvds up on Ebay.

I bought 5 DVDs off Paul through private email.
I sent him 35 bucks via Paypal and he told me the DVDs were mailed out,I received them today with it postmarked the same day he stated they were mailed out.I checked out all 5 on DVD and got exactly what I was hoping for.

I even asked him to recommend what I buy,he was very helpful.

I got my first three DVDs from Paul within a month or so, but I have been waiting since May for him to send me the Indianna, Ritz Edited and Unedited and Mannhaim DVDs!!   Sure he delivers at first, but then.....

I am an ebay seller too.   I can appreciate how much easier it is to sit on your shipments and not ship them out right away. 

But - you SHOULD NOT do this.  Not only does it create a bad name for you, but it creates a bad name for the rest of us too.  It makes the whole Ebay community look bad when you do things like this, and it turns people off of ebay. 

As an ebay seller myself, I am going to recommend that you not post auctions unless you are ready, willing and able to ship them out as soon as you have received payment.  If you can't ship out 10 shipments a week, then cut your auctions in half and only post 5 auctions per week, so that you can keep on top of your shipments.  If you can't do 5 a week, then cut it and only do 2 or 3 a week. 

I realize this cuts into your profits, and that is the reason you are in business.  that is the reason I'm in business too.  But if you can't keep up with your own business venture, then you need to reconsider what it is you're doing, because you are ruining ebay for the rest of us who run an honest, efficient business from ebay.

A note to the rest of you:  I have purchased some bootlegs from ebay, and I have gotten what I paid for.  gnrocks2 is an ebay user that is a fast shipper, and very helpful with purchases also! I got the St. Louis Riot show from them as well as the RIR show.  Don't let one person turn you away from all that ebay has to offer.

As far as being able to change names on ebay, businesses change their names, and so I don't agree that you should have to be locked in to one name on ebay.  If you change the course of your business, you should be allowed to change your name to suit what you do.

I have been scammed in the past on ebay also.  It sucks when that happens.  The best advice I can give is not to wait too long to follow up on something.  A good seller will contact you within 24 hours after an auction ends, within 24 hours after receiving payment, and within 24 hours of shipment to notify you of tracking information.  If you don't hear from your seller, this should motivate you to contact them yourself, to make sure that they're on the ball.  Not all sellers can ship within 24 hours of payment receipt... but they can contact you to at least thank you for payment and let you know when to expect shipment.

And if you haven't heard from your seller, and they won't respond to your emails, then you can contact ebay.  You only have 30 days from auction end to do this, so I recommend that you contact ebay within 2 weeks of auction end if you haven't heard from your seller, because some of these processes take a while.

Except when you change it every week or even have different IDs at the same time, as is the case with Paul.

all CDR/DVDR (re-)sellers are in business for $$$$ only. you make money from other people's filming/authoring again and again and from stuff which has been traded/spreaded and shared for free. and this is the fact why sellers are cut off from traders so they will miss some nice stuff as it cant be grabbed easily anymore. some tapers even dont give out their shows cause of those sellers....is that what fans want ??

Tied Up said she was a seller too but I don't know if she meant a bootleg seller as well, or a legit seller. Some people actually do legal business on eBay and make a living on it, by selling legit stuff. If she sells bootlegs too, that's just wrong.

Plus, you can actually get in big trouble for it. Be glad the police didn't start an investigation on you, because the IFPI (association of producers) does take the sale of bootlegs seriously.

This guy ripped me off too last year.  I constantly e-mailed him, even tracking down his other Ebay accounts, and he always said that he sent them, but I never got what I ordered.  This guy is not reliable.

i don't agree,i have resolved all issues.once upon a time yes but not now.hell,i give out free shows all the time.and as far as downloading the shows i have good luck!!!  i have wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy  more than i have ever seen for d/l.you get the basics on d/l not the good rare shit.and if you find something cool,it's gone after a few days and you still need to d/l 40%   all i can say is that i have tried to fix the wrongs i have done and if that's not good enough then sorry but i have tried. :peace:

If you have so much "rare shit" that you never see anywhere else, why not upload it to easytree for example?

I must say Jordan seems to be a nice guy and he has been very kind to me. Sends the DVDs fast and most of them has the best quality you get from the actual shows. And since my internet connection sucks I can't get them another way.

dude most of the rare shit has been uploaded on the paradisecity tracker. I have gotten 95% of my dvds from there and easytree, and in just about 3 months i got well over 40 shows. Not bad considering i didnt have to pay 1 cent for any of them.

So people just download the boots for free and put the sellers on ebay out of business  :peace:

Give the guy a brake! He made some mistakes, but he is making good on them!! He went out of his way for me. His stuff is some of the best out there! Either give him a second chance or stop complaining. He is making good on every sale he messed up on. What more do you want!

What I want is for everyone to stop selling bootlegs, its not only illegal, but its also fucked up making money off of someone elses work, namely the band.

Hey, Chineseblues, did it ever occur to you that some people, live on campus, or like me, have no idea how to enable my computer to allow bit torrent downloads. How else am I supposed to get boots. Are you going to send them to me for free. You and mean machine are idiots. Yomama sent me a free dvd and didn't even ask for any reimbursment.

There is a market for bootleg sellers.  Not everyone has a computer or the know how to download or even the connection to download.  This doesn't mean I approve of someone downloading shows and then selling them, I am just acknowledging the fact that there are people that buy them.  I have bought a few, mainly from the filmers or someone that has gotten the show from the filmer for the purpose of selling the show (this happens more than you think).  The only acceptable bootleg seller in my opinion is the filmer.  Not everyone is doing it to give out free shows.

I have sent people boots for free. If you catch me on a good day and you dont live in like asia then its possible that i might send you a dvd or 2 for nothing. And im not the only person who does this, there are more people then you think that are willing to help people who cant download dvds out, and we dont ask for anything in return. Chinese Blues, I agree that it isn't fair to sell boots. But like I said, I had nothing to trade, nor can I really tweak my computer with some help. So i buy boots from people, but I have also been lucky from people like Paul and the guys over at the Zeppelin.com message board. Now I have hundreds of live shows from Zeppelin which I can pass around to peple who like them
