Title: Re-records?
Post by: Dust N Rose on January 24, 2005, 06:55:53 PM
I was wondering how many songs Guns N' Roses have re-recorded and which exactly are these?
I know that SCOM has been re-recorded for the movie BigDaddy and I think Rocket Queen has also been re-recorded.

those songs were PLAYED LIVE in concerts.

the songs RE-RECORDED were ALL Appetite and Knockin' on Heavens door (in 4 versions), as we actually know they never will be officially released

uhm, :coffee: it wasn't all apetite according to axl, last i heard?...

this may be of intrest to the topic starter? ;)

Loder: Is it fair to say that we may never be hearing this stuff ever again? This old material?

Rose: No, no, that's not true at all. In fact, actually, I have re-recorded "Appetite" and--

Loder: You re-recorded "Appetite For Destruction?"

Rose: Yes, I have.

Loder: The whole album?

Rose: Yes.

Loder: Whoa.

Rose: Well, with the exception of two songs, because we replaced those with "You Could Be Mine," and "Patience," and why do that? Well, we had to rehearse them anyway to be able to perform them live again, and there were a lot of recording techniques and certain subtle styles and drum fills and things like that that are kind of '80s signatures that subtly could use a little sprucing up... a little less reverb and a little less double bass and things like that.
I don't know what I'm going to do with it, exactly, when I would be putting that out.

The outcome of the legal battle with Slash and Duff could very likely dictate whether it will be released at all. If Axl wins, he's likely to follow his game plan with the studio version of the re-recorded AFD - whatever that may be. The good thing is, court hearings actually have fixed dates.

SCOM was released somehow, being in the end of the movie BigDaddy.
But I've downloaded a part of rocket queen re-recorded from Guns N' Roses (Axl's voice was sounded like in the re-recorded SCOM). I think I've found that during summer in gnrsucks.com, it isn't there anymore  though. If anyone wants it, I can upload it.
Hence, Rocket Queen seems to have leaked someway. Could they be more songs leaked. Re-recorded songs are really cool.

I don't have a ready site, but I still can upload it  ;)
I shouldn't post in Dead Horse I guess, this topic seems to be rather interesting.

The file is virtually 500 kbytes in wma format. Here's the link: http://www.geocities.com/tseliosv/liveera-rq-rerecorded.wma

Also in gnrsucks.com was saying "Who doubts again Axl's voice?", I wish we could find these re-recorded pieces. I believe Axl will sound something like this in C.D. Still cool!  : ok:
