Title: gnr and touring Post by: norway on January 17, 2005, 09:32:47 PM Does anyone know what gnr's deal is when it comes to touring? will they go on without a third guitar-player?
Stinson added that he thinks the record is finally almost done, and the only thing that's holding back its completion is legal issues. Even the recent departure of guitarist Buckethead isn't slowing anything down. "As far as I know, he hasn't been replaced, but we already have enough guitarists,"Stinson said. "We have Robin Finck and Richard Fortus, and Buckethead will be on the record, too. then was rio cancelled cause they needed time to rehearse and rearrange sections for the guitarplayers to play- -or because the need and plan a third guitarplayer when doin gigs? and that was just Tommy's opinion? is there any interviews or info that can clear things up around this Or anyone who knows 4 sure? Title: Re: gnr and touring Post by: Saul on January 18, 2005, 12:04:57 AM right now I dont think anyone knows what the deal is with 2 or 3 guitar players and anyone outside the band or maybe even just axl himself would be just speculating.

Not confident at all. Fortus can, but not Finck.Unfortunately none of them have the ability of Slash, not even the half of Slash's talent. It's not a tragedy, a very few can come close to Slash. But they can tour and release albums, just please, be GN'R 2000 (2005?) and forget about the old songs, it'd be enough to play only new ones (from the three albums :hihi:) with 3-4 old anthems. Title: Re: gnr and touring Post by: nesquick on January 18, 2005, 06:15:03 AM Slash is unique, we are ok. Nobody can aver "replace" Slash because you can't replace a legend. However it doesn't forbide to think Fortus is better than Finck and that he should take the lead ;D

To tell the truth Axl chose 2 musicians to play for him who made me really upset: Huge/Tobias and Finck. They absolutely lack the quality needed in this level. Title: Re: gnr and touring Post by: Philly Rose on January 18, 2005, 11:16:11 AM Robin rocks my socks. BH rocked too, he played the robot... unfortunatelly I realized this too late. Everything in GN'R has a meaning and is worth to interprate. I still believe in 3 guitar players to be on the album. To the on stage question, I have no clue how GN'R will manage it. But I would welcome it because I am going with the classical rythym thing, and classic is realy hard to play and perhaps they need 3 guitar players. I loved the on stage presence of this 3 guys, because there was a lot of communication and pure energy.Title: Re: gnr and touring Post by: ppbebe on January 18, 2005, 02:05:50 PM Very Well said, M. Philly Rose.
