Title: NIN confirm line-up....(concerning Robin)
Post by: HoldenCaulfield on January 06, 2005, 01:11:45 PM
From sp1at.com:

According to a posting at The NIN Hotline, NINE INCH NAILS mainman Trent Reznor has spoken to Kerrang! magazine about his new band, confirming that Jeordie White (a.k.a. Twiggy Ramirez, A PERFECT CIRCLE, ex-MARILYN MANSON) and Jerome Dillon (drums) are on board, along with "newcomer guitarists Ralph Dieter and Alessandro Cortini."

The group's new CD, entitled "With Teeth", will contain 12 tracks, and is said to be "more song-orientated" than "The Fragile", which was described in the article as "instrumental soundtracks for movies that haven't been filmed yet." Said Trent, "I wanted to hone my songwriting skills with melodies and hooks." Trent also added that he ditched the original working title for the new album, "Bleedthrough", because "people were thinking about blood or a tampon commercial."

"With Teeth" is tentatively scheduled for an April/May release via Nothing/Interscope

Maybe this will put all the "omg will robin tour with nin?!??!1!?" rubbish to rest. Not necessarily GNR related per se, but it'll help me sleep better tonight? : ok:

Why do you think that may happen?  Is it because you don't think Interscope would have two major releases scheduled around the same time?

If so, consider that both the new Eminem and U2 albums were released in November.

Stop me if i'm wrong dave, but i think the reasoning would be that Axl values trent's work so highly that he would redo parts of CD.

Personally, i doubt that would be an excuse to further push back the album; i think everything has been recorded thats gonna be on the album.

He might as well tour with NIN, it's not like GNR has been keeping him busy.

It seems like Robin hasn't been doing much of anything lately,He's probably dying to get out and play some music.

'i want to make an album that sells more so i am including melodies and hooks as opposed to mindless electronic noise'

Songwriting skills trent? Its about time u showed them off, what little u have.

Glad to know Robin is having nothing to do with this bunch

Why would you think that? CD will never be released if Axl lets other major releases get in the way. Since Axl seems to like and respect Trent, maybe this will give him the confidence to release it. Who knows.

this is really good news. not that i didn't like robin with nin, but this almost definitely means something is happening with gnr sometime this year. if it weren't i seriously doubt robin would pass up on the nin thing and i also doubt that trent didn't ask. this is a really good thing and actually the only bit of information that has made me think that gnr will be doing something this year.

I suppose it's better than the alternative (i.e. Robin actually hitting the road with NIN), but I think we're foolish to read too much into it. It's just as likely that Axl wised up since '99 (Robin's last departure for NIN) and put language into Robin's new GN'R contract forbidding such departures in the future. The Reed and Stinson tours are much more indicative of the present state of GN'R I fear.

There's a big difference between doing a small solo tour and doing a full tour as a member of a major rock group...

For what it's worth, Ralph Dietel  (who was supoosed to play guitar in the new Live incarnation of NiN) isn't part of live NiN anymore.
(source: theninhotline.net)

I hope this means return of Robin to NiN.Propably not but.. Robin BELONGS to NiN. Give him back to Trent damn it!

Cortini is behind the keyboards btw, not in guitar as suggested in Kerrang.

I been busy with school and work but I thought I read few months back Dave Grohl was going to be drumming on the new NIN album what ever happened to that?

Dave is drumming on the album, not touring with them.

Seems like Robin isn't in Nine Inch Nails, which is the original topic.
