Missing GUNS N' ROSES Fan Found After Two Years - Dec. 30, 2004 
 
BBC News is reporting that a rock music fan who went missing two years ago while on a trip to Chicago for a concert has been found.

Kirsty Ormerod (photo), now 22, left her home in Newport in November 2002 and flew alone to the U.S. to see GUNS N' ROSES.

Her last known movement had been on November 20 when she withdrew a small amount of money from a cash machine.

Gwent Police said they have been told by American counterparts that Ms Ormerod has been traced and has married and settled there.

Detective Sergeant John Giles said: "There is no suggestion she is coming home and she does not want her location being given out.

"Her family has been informed and they are relieved she is safe and well. We are closing the file on it."

Over the past two years, Gwent Police had worked with American forces and the FBI's Missing Persons Bureau in an effort to find Ms Ormerod.

During appeals, her family, from Leeds, said she was a free spirit and had done her own thing in the past without telling them, but her disappearance had been out of character.

Members of GUNS N' ROSES had also issued a statement urging Kirsty to contact someone to say she was safe and well in the months following her disappearance.

Thank  God she's alive. And strangely this happened right before New Year's eve so it seems like some New Year tale. It's magical if you know what I mean

A big smile came across my face when i read that. We've had half a dozen or so requests from police and family in the last two years and i pretty much expected her to be found dead in some ditch off a highway.

Always nice to be surprised in a pleasant way.

Yeah I think it's super great she's alive.......but c'mon....look at how much time and money and worrying she caused to be wasted because she wanted to "run away" or whatever.  I'm sure she knew  her dissappearance had caused some what of a stirrup and she may even have done it just to get a response from GNR Management.  Pretty sad so I definitely hope she puts out a statement or something.

It is great news she is alive and well, but very stupid not to notify anyone for 2 years. I agree with Bill213, she may have noticed the exposure from GNR and got a thrill out of it.

I'm sure there's quite a story behind this...maybe we'll see it in the movies next year.  :P

a 20 year old should have had better sence. If she wanted to go away fine , but to put so many people through BS because of it? Wasting police time and money? Her family has been looking for her the last couple years too.

I think this women is a complete idoit.  She had her whole family worried and law enforcement wasted there time and money. She is very selfish person and only thinks of herself. This women should get her head bashed in, she clearly needs help.

I am glad for her family sake that she is alive, but what she did was irresponsible and just wrong to her family. If she wanted to get away that's fine, but she should have left a note or made a phone call. Imagine the awful things that ran through her parents head, wondering what happened to their baby girl.  :no:

c'mon, a lot of people devoted a lot of time for her search. even we were hoping that she's alright. and she was old enough to leave her parents, if they were bad ones.
it's good she's alright, but nevertheless i don't have respect for people like her.

when she was 9 years old, her parents split up, momma found a new daddy, and he came to live with them. One night drowsy and safe, awake not asleep, she saw a pink and purple wormlike thing above her body. It did not touch her, no, it moved in the air. It was going to touch her. Her screaming woke the house, Woke her grandma, who was listening and said "It's not real, it didn't happen,"."You were such a good girl, so quiet, you could just sit still for hours", You never cried, "he said.
A being she knows comes close. He touches her and she is enveloped in fear. He takes off her clothes and she kicks her feet in the air trying to fight the thing. And then he places upon her the long purple-pink glove of flesh that has a life of it's own.

Years go by...every other night its the same thing. She discovers an old cassette that used to belong to her dad, her real father, the album was called 'appetite for destruction' she falls inlove with the scream the guitar and the lyrics. She likes to think of herself as a Rocketqueen, and finds comfort through music " I see you standing, standing on your own, it's such a lonely place for you, for you to be, if you need a shoulder, or if you need a friend, I'll be here standing until the picture ends". Paradise city inspires her to leave home, she does, but a few months later, she's home again for no reason. It's hell.? A few years go bye. To ride the snake has become unbearable. She bought use your illusions, Lies ,the tunes ringer in her head..."just a little patience"...'back off bitch"..."when you're talking to yourself, and nobody's home, you can't fool yourself, you're in this world alone....ALONE"
She leaves home and tries to make it elsewhere but can't, she's home again. He's happy to see her. She's too young. A friend of hers breaks the news, the band she loved is back,? a new incarnation, bandmembers are missing, she worries,? She downloads madagascar from rock in rio 3, the song ends...she's speachless.
"No I won't be told anymore
That I've been brought down in this storm
And left so far out from the shore
That I can't find my way back, my way anymore"
She decides? she has to go, but this time, she must never come back, don't look back. She's got 400? in the bank and steals 200 more from here mother's. In the plane she goes.
It's a new day, a new life.

I did. I was very scared she could have died. I hope she is happy. However, i feel extremely sorry for her family since she gave no news for 2 years.

I see a lot of people saying she's a bitch because she wants nothing to do with her parents. But we know nothing about her life. Her life could've been hell on earth. It seems to me she didn't want to be found. It's her life and nobody elses. It's like saying someone is guilty before proven innocent.

So she's missing again.....decided to move on........obviously this girl needs mental help when they do trace her down.  Sad and pathetic to see her putting her family through this.

no that's not the point. if she hates her parents, then there's probably a good reason for that, but she's a bitch cause a lot of people spend their time (and money) in trying to find her. a letter to a policestation from another part of the country would have done the trick.

It looks like you actually care about what happened to her life ?? ;D You didn't care a minute ago when you said she was a twat.
