I find it inconsistant and slightly odd that you would accept that as "likely," considering how inherently unreliable "a girl backstage" is. Title: Re: Tracks that will most likely be on CD, ones that have been confirmed by people Post by: dave-gnfnr2k on December 31, 2004, 01:29:13 AM Catcher in the rye was also mentioned in the RS article, but Axl told her that was the name of the 3rd single. Catcher in the rye is about John Lennon and should be on CD. And the girl is reliable since I know her.

Howard Karp worked on the song "This I Love" in 2000. He described it as a simple, piano based track. Only him and Axl were in the studio at the time he was working on it. It is expected to be on Chinese Democracy. http://members.aol.com/hkpwnetd/disc.html There's a link to Karp's discography, you can find proof there. Most likely we`ll see some other songs no one has heard of yet and some of them listed here omitted (till the next album or posibly B sides to singles)

I don?t know if it?s the same girl, but Madison, from mygnr.com, says she spoke with Axl on the 2002 tour and he told her that IRS would be the third single. I think she is reliable, but who knows... MNR Seriously what is the point to your post? As dave said, if you don't care for the topic, I would also suggest you turn your attention elsewhere. This is a gnr board and, in the absence of breaking news, speculation tends to rule the roost. Clearly the title of this thread suggested that this was based on rumor and snippets of info garnered from interviews and articles. Posts like yours are as annoying as the resident clique of bashers that invade this side of the forum. Title: Re: Tracks that will most likely be on CD, ones that have been confirmed by people Post by: AxlVedder on January 02, 2005, 08:03:47 PM Here is what I can tell you about I.R.S.:
Last August I was driving home, late at night, around midnight, give or take a half hour, I don't remember exactly. Eddie Trunk had Mets catcher Mike Piazza on the show. Mike had a CD he got in his fan mail. This CDR had "Guns N' Roses, I.R.S." written on it. Being a regular guest on the show, he brought it on and Eddie gave it a spin... I missed the first little bit of the song, as I had no idea it was coming. I caught a nice chunk of the songthat I caught, but I don't know how much I missed. From the begining, I liked the song, I was digging it, though I found it sounded just like Axl Rose. At this point I was very excited. I was sure it was them, but I couldn't confirm it and then the song ended. When it was over, Trunk said, "That voice sounded familiar, didn't it?" followed by" That's a new one from Guns N' Roses, called I.R.S." At this point, I actually had to pull the car over because I was that excited. I know, very childish, heheh, but come on, do you blame me? The song itself was very good. Though, it sounded like it may not be a finalized version of it, and even so, it was better than most of todays "finished" music. Axl sounded great on the album, and I can relate his vocals to the end half of "Estranged." I don't know many music terms, but I will try to explain things the best I can. The vocals, as I said, reminded me of Use Your Illusion Axl, as did the mood of the songs. It wasn't Appetite GNR. The part of "Estranged" where the lyrics go "Now that you've been broken down..." is what his vocals reminded me of. Also, I guess the end part of "Coma" was similar to the singing style. The music itself had a slight NIN feel to it, as there was some effects done on computer or keyboard. I wouldn't say it was "Closer" but it sounded like something Trent Reznor would have on an album. Having that been said, I am not trying to say it sounded just like a NIN song, it just had some influence. The guitars were very well done, as was the drum beat. If I knew about it, I would have that sucker on a cassette, but there was no way of knowing. Maybe somewhere on this board, a million pages ago, the old posts may still be there, though I doubt it, that is, for those interested. I'm sure some people here remember the days of this topic, and if any of them want to add to this that would be cool. -Axl Vedder Title: Re: Tracks that will most likely be on CD, ones that have been confirmed by people Post by: AxlVedder on January 02, 2005, 08:09:05 PM Here is what I can tell you about I.R.S.:

I usually listen to that show...and I was pissed that I missed it. One of the only times I missed that show. I wish I opculd have brought all of you a review of that song. But I think the end is near... Its gonna be a fukin absolute amazing day when that CD is released...... Title: Re: Tracks that will most likely be on CD, ones that have been confirmed by people Post by: AxlVedder on January 02, 2005, 10:35:38 PM To answer younggunners question, it was a different type of song than the other three for the most part. Out of the three it is closest to "Madagascar" though each one of the four are unique in their own awesome ways.
It is possible to say that they all follow a similarity in which the band performs them, as with most songs. With each of the songs, you can pick out exactly who is doing which part, which is great to know, I can feel the chemistry as I listen to them.
