Title: remixes on singles?
Post by: norway on December 18, 2004, 05:13:30 PM
what would you think if gnr had several versions of songs publiced

it seems they been workin a lot and some changes have we heard:

like the solo in rio-madagascar which has this hard rock approach (even though the vocals ain't goodthere)

download here http://www.heretodaygonetohell.com/audio.htm click it

and the new version which can be heard here http://194.214.98.117/bk/gnr/Madgascar_bessamk@free.fr.avi right click it

So it's likely that other songs has had similar changes and it's been hard 2 skip some-
I really like the rio solo and the accompanent? behind, while the vocal piece was better at vma

so wouldn't it be cool if we heard some remixes and alternate versions of new songs?

what do you think?

And I hope we'll get to hear a bunch of them... but I'd take a new song over a remix anyday.

I hope it's not a thing where they release a better version of a song as a single than whats on the album. I thought what white zombie did with the whole remix album was pretty cool idea even tho I dind't really like it.

The solo in madagascar didnt change. BH always plays his solos different. He never plays the same solo twice. Listen to 5 versions of madagascar and all the solos are different.

Me too. And I still would love to hear the remix AFD album. For me, it'd be so intriguing to hear what Axl went back and changed. If he sped up or slowed down certain parts of songs? Or whatever he decided to change. But back on topic, I hope there are different remixes of the songs or atleast certains songs made available to us fans. :)

put off the reverb.
You tried so I have to respect your work, but I can garantee you the reverb is way too much important on that one. The voice is robotic and that doesn't sound the best it should.

Remixes are cool if they are done by someone who understands the original song and what it conveys. Nothing worse than DJ Dork remixing GNR by speeding it up, adding a drum loop and repeating the chorus an extra 8 times and ends up making millions in royalties an uninspired remix.
