It may well be fraud, but the writing on the jacket looks stitched in (opposed to ironed on) so some effort has gone into adding the art to the jacket. Still, i wouldn't buy it  ;)

Also, read the description.  First, he says one of only 5 jackets ever made.  Then he turns around and says it was one of 30 given to the closest roadies...so which is it? 5 or 30?

SOOOOOOO Fake.

Actually..

For a while, that coat was on sale on the ORIGINAL merchandise site. (Not merch.com, but the one that went up when gunsnroses.com was up for a short period of time.) They were selling the Live Era jacket and the Live Era shirt. (I have the shirt, just for the record.)

If I remember right, the jacket was a Dickies' work jacket with all of the GN'R stuff stitched on. I don't really remember all of the details though.

Someone should try e-mailing this guy to get a shot of the tag on the jacket. If its a Dickies' then its the one I'm thinking of.

I also saw some lady wearing it at the Philly "show", come to think of it.

This guy needs to try a little harder next time. The funiest part is when he said only 5 were made, but 30 were given away. That was the icing on the cake! Ask him if he has any bridges he is selling.

He could mean only 5 different types of jackets made

Regarding that, he says "and is one of five jackets ever made." Sounds like 5 individual jackets to me. If he ment different types he certainly diddn`t say so. The guy isn`t too bright apparently.

I found a jacket just like it online but it was made in Mexico. He claimed that one was a ripoff of his authentic jacket.  :hihi:

The guy then claimed (about the 30 number) that there were 30 roadies and only 5 of them recieved the jackets! But reading his description that is clearly not the case.

I bought one of those jackets back when they when the came out on the old GN'R website. I've been wearing it ever since. Just trying to keep the name alive. Everyone always compliments me on the jacket and ask where I got it.  I remember someone asked me if I worked for them, I thought that was funny.

I e-mailed the guy (just for laughs) and questioned him about its authenticity. He never e-mailed back. No surprise.
