Title: Guitar players!
Post by: Captain Obvious on December 15, 2004, 01:10:35 AM
I don't visit the musician's forum often and please tell me if this was already done. I saw the thread about posting your own music, but I was thinking: how about a good ol' fashioned guitar-off? You know, where u post a song of you soloing, playing riffs, etc (they have to be your own) and people vote for the best one. If someone is interested, please respond so we can make rules and such before we start.

Oh and one more thing, if this actually catches anyone's interest, I'm hoping it we can have a specific category for the comptetion with a time limit: for example, cathiest riff or most expressive solo, fastest solo, etc.

I don't think people who aren't Eddie Van Halen on guitar should be discouraged, that also goes for people who don't have good recording software. The quality doesn't have to be the greatest, I don't think, and the file won't be too big. Even if you are a beginner that just came up with some cool riff, why not share it and see how it stacks up?
