i was wondering about rock in rio 3.  that was back in 1999, right?  was it televised?  i remeber it being televised for some reason, but im not exactly sure.  was it televised?  also, what songs did they play back then, did they play any new songs, or was it just all old material?  also, if you know, who was on the stage that night, what was the line up that played?

and about rock in rio 4, will that be televised as well?

This is the intro from Rock in Rio III and some other shows. It's from the exorcist III.

"This I believe in. I believe in death. I believe in disease. I believe in injustice and inhumanity, torture and anger and hate. I believe in murder. I believe in pain. I believe in cruelty and infidelity. I believe in slime and stink and every crawling putrid thing. Every possible ugliness and corruption you son of a bitch. I believe . . . in you."

Hello,  I have only seen 3 GNR songs from the ROCK IN RIO 3 festival.

During "It's So Easy", Axl starts "interacting" with  a fan, giving him the finger and stuff.  Then he says to a security guy:
"Get that guy outta here!!!. That guy right there.  ARE YOU LISTENING TO ME MISTER SECURITY MAN?!?! That guy, GONE!!!........  Yeah, throw him! ........Hand me that shirt.   Hand me that shirt!.....thank you."

  (this clip always makes me laugh........ARE YOU LISTENING TO ME MISTER SECURITY MAN?!?!)  :hihi:

Anyways, my question is,  what did that guy do to piss him off?  what's with the shirt???  Was is a shirt that said "Axl, you suck" or something?  maybe one of those Slash shirts?

Any other incidents in that show?

Correct

oh! so that was it!   Thank you.

poor guy, got thrown at the begining of the show.

But,  being a real fan of GNR, the least thing I would want to do would be to upset Axl.

yeah, the whole band cant hear shit through most of the show,
they all get mixed up on You Could Be Mine :-X
During The Blues, Axl gets pissed off with the sound guy, who appears to not
be taking any notice of the problem.
Welcome To The Jungle bridge (YOUR GONNA DIE) is repeated twice, but sounds cool anyway : ok:
Oh My God has a different outro, not planned. But still sounds cool : ok: : ok:
Mr. Browstone has a little mess up at the end :-[
Paul Tobias was there :'(
Richard Fortus was'nt :nervous:
A giant fuckin' drum solo happens between Silkworms n' Paradice City by a heap of black dudes,
......................fuckin' good show though, i can't get enough of the whole intro with the beat pumpin' away n' then Excorcist III intro before Jungle, an intro within' an intro within' an intro,,,,,it fuckin' rocks!!! : ok:

I have never seen the rock in rio III video so I have some questions. In the song "the blues" why does axl says "ok never mind" in the middle of the song. Also when axl says something like, "take that away, Im not paying for it".

I don't know the answer for Your question but I got my own...

What is Axl saying to the security when this guy pissed him off during It's So Easy?

'Eminem t-shirt' or 'Gimme that t-shirt' ?

Post by: jarmo on November 13, 2004, 10:57:42 AM
Gimme that shirt.

I think the "ok, never mind" was meant for somebody in the crew and the "I'm not paying for it" was about a tv camera (I think).

"Ok, never mind" - Axl's ear piece was messing up and in the end he did a super pissed face ripped at it then told the guy not to bother.

Post by: D on November 13, 2004, 11:36:29 PM
The ear piece was the beginning of the song, i thought maybe the guy forgot to set axl's mic stand back up, u know axl throws it and the guy runs out and sets it back up, i thought he forgot to set it up, cause axl is makin gestures that looks like he is sayin to put his stand up, so the guy forgets so axl says "ok nevermind" and just keeps singin with the mic in hand.

but i dont know for sure just what i always thought

The I'm not paying for it.. happened when Axl ran off the stage into the gap in the audience.. when the song finished he ran back to the stage and someone from the TV crew got in his way and he almost ran into it.

Besides the 12/29/04 Vegas show, RIR3 was Axl's best new performance by far.  I think the guy was holding up a Slash shirt and waving it in Axl's face.

Axl has Slash's likeness tatoo'd to his forearm, you would think a shirt wouldn't bother him.

Wel... those "I'm Not Paying For It" thing happened in the end of You Could Be Mine, ok??
I really thought that he (Axl) said that because the Security Man Guys were running behind him... and it was like 8 guys.. soh he laugh and said that...
But could be the TV Crew too

About the "OK, Nevermind" comment:

If you look at the video, just before he says this he's making some handgestures.  I always thought he was trying to tell the band to slow down.  The 'Rio-version' of 'The Blues' is the only time the band played it at this pace.  In following concerts it was played a lot slower.
I'm just guessing here.

Now I have a question as well:

Just before 'My Michelle', Bucket & Robin play something instrumental together.  I find it quite an emotional piece of guitar playing.

Is this a cover, if so which song by which band?
Or might this possibly be something new?
Sorry if this was answered somewhere else...

Man, it wasn't..
1- In Vegas they played the blues in the faster version too!!! Vegas Concert was early than Rio!
2- The handgestures were for the soundboard guys... the SOUND VOLUME of the PIANO WAS SO HARD that Axl couldn't listen to his own voice, so he wanted that the sound gets a little down, okay now?

Most songs that night were played at a faster tempo.

Axl's monitor (the earpiece allowing him to hear himself sing) cut out several times during the show.? You can actually hear a soft screech each time it happens.? A good example is after the first verse of Nightrain.? Right after Axl sings "make my money tonight..." you hear a screech and then Axl's voice is lower in the sound mix through the rest of the song.

It was about that camera that was on sort of a rail system, because just before he said im not paying for that, he said get that fing thing outa my way. The whole quote was something like, "Get that fucking thing outa my way, it's gotta be real expensive and I'm not paying for that."

I have to say that the show was awesome, Axl's vocals were killer for most of the show, and the new band played some of the old songs better than the original.  I have a few questions though, and I'm sure they've been asked plenty of times...

1)  What was Axl talking about when he said "nevermind" during one of the songs, I think it was the Blues?

2)  Who exactly was the lady that Axl was talking about at the end of the show?

3)  What did the T-Shirt say that Axl took from a fan?

Thanks
