SCOM has 3 versions

Garden of Eden has 3 versions

It's so easy 2 versions (live era is like the unreleased version but with live images replacing axl's chick)

Yesterdays 2 versions (one with and other without static photos)

Welcome 2 versions (one of them features police images from Chile 1973)

YCBM 2 versions (original & director's cut)

I'll post more if I remember

Hopefully one day we will get a Welcome to the Videos: Special Edition DVD with every version of every video as well as a bunch of bonus footage about the making of them, not just the making of Don't Cry, November Rain and Estranged. But I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for that to happen.

The only alternate video that I've seen is the SCOM video that isn't on Welcome to the Videos. If I remember correctly, there are a few small changes, but they make a signficant difference. It's got a lot more of the black and white footage. The stuff with the "crew" filming them isn't on there. Axl dances with the mic stand to his side, but he doesn't do the step-backward-with-stand thingie. It seems that Guns went back later, and added the color footage to make the video more interesting. And it worked.

wow you guys are hardcore knowin all these details!
I wish they would make all of these versions available for the die-hard fans (i.e. us)---cuz we'd buy it---even if they sold it through a website to cut costs or something (and would sell thier live concert stuff...etc etc....)  Just a dream  8)

Take a look at the current GN'R website and you'll see how far away they are from doing that.

Even better.... people who bought St Anger by Metallica got a number that when typed into the Metallica Vault website, got free downloads.  I got one, and the Vault is updated every so often with new soundboards from past shows, from many many years ago and some not so long ago.  It's fucking ace.  Totally free, and not neglected.

I would love that with Chinese Democracy.  Hell, Metallica Vault includes old members on the shows, so Axl shouldn't worry about old members being on the mp3's....

It would be awesome!  Imagine mixed soundboard versions of all the old shows.  Man, that would be amazing.

And another thing I loved about St Anger, is that they included a bonus full length DVD of the band playing through the songs in the studio... all live, no overdubs etc... raw and very very very ace.  I really like St Anger as an album, so I am thrilled to bits to get that DVD free too.  Imagine that with Chinese Democracy.  A full length DVD of rehearsal or something.  Awesome.

Agree... I love St Anger too. And Metallica websites are great... I would like to add to your post that GNR should do on line covering of the studio proccess and tours... Met on Tour is great and Jump in the studio was cool !!! I hope Axl learn something from them and make something like this in the future..
