The guy who introduced GNR at their live shows back in the day, Duff's tech Mike Mayhue, is he working with VR and introducing them?

You can see him in the Tokyo show. Duff sticks a guitar pick to his forehead. The glue is Duff's drool.

I always wondered who that guy was/what he looked like.  There are certain concerts where he comes out and introduces Gn'r, but the camera is always from a distance.  When I went to the VR Chicago show a few weeks ago, it was so great to hear him.  It reminded me of the Gn'r days, which is never a bad thing.  He said "The band that puts the punk in punctuality, from Hollywood, California, VR!"  Of course, it was because they were very late ;).

And the reason for that is? People love it, what's the problem? Do you also think that the new GNR shouldn't play the solo's Slash wrote? Maybe they should come up with new ones?

Haha, this is like the fuckin' essence of this forum: people presenting these totally inane analogies with no sense or reason. Yay.

What a strong argument!

I just don't get why you have to bitch about that. I mean, it's 3 third of GNR in that group, they are not entitled to use anything from their glorious past? Just because Axl holds the name doesn't mean Slash&co can't use anything?

And Skeletor, go fuck yourself if you think you're so hot. The essence of me saying that, is that it is as ridicules as saying that the guy needs to come up with new lines. People enjoy it, stop bitchin'.

Obviously there's no need to "discuss" anything with you.

When you go see GN'R you expect to hear GN'R songs, when you go see VR you expect to hear the same introduction as GN'R used 13 years ago?

Ok....

I gotta back Jarmo on this one, when I was at the Worcester MA show and he used the "Stop your grinnin' and drop your linen, From Hollywood...VELVET....REVOLVER" I thought it was just sad. Sure he has every right to introduce them in the same way as he did with Guns, but just come up with some new material.

Also I don't see how him re-using an old Guns intro is akin to Robin playing a solo for Sweet Child O' Mine..... You might have an argument if Axl came on stage durring the 2002 tour and started ranting about how the band was over if certain members didn't stop dancing with Mr. Brownstone or going into a rant about Warren Beatty.

If the audience likes it, why not? I just don't get it. It's fun, why change it...
