I did some investigations in the web but I didn't get the answer of the following question:

How many records did Gund N' Roses sale all over the world? Does anybody have some facts? I need theese facts for our new gnr-page which will be great ;D

As far as U.S. sales go :

The combined sales of Appetite for Destruction, Lies, Use Your Illusion I & II, The Spaghetti Incident, and Live Era are around 37 million records sold.

With a band like Guns N' Roses which enjoyed world-wide popularity, you could double that number with overseas sales.  So a good round total is approximatley 75 million.  Not bad! : ok:

According to Classic Rock last year Appetite has sold more than 40 million wordwide.
According to Matt Sorum (and he was very definate on this), Illusions had already sold 32 million at the end of the tour in '93.

Thats already 72 million. Add in illusions sales since '93 and lies/spaghetti incident/live era. Jesus. They must have broke 80 million and possibly 85.  : ok:

Its more amazing for GnR because they were a hard rock band.  Popstars are supposed to sell a ton.

I know...i was watching something about Britney and it was really depressing to hear that her first 3 albums sold 60 worldwide........

appetite = 20 million
lies= 5 million
uyi 1 = 10 million
uyi 2 = 10 million
spaghetti = 2 million
live era = 1 million
hits = 3 million

these are just guesses but i would love to know just out of curiosity

i read somewhere on the internet, that appetite reached more than 16 million, the UYI each about 7/7.5 million and the live era a little bit more than 1 million.

AFD: 15 million in the U.S, All together 35 million sold. 2nd best selling debut album ever
Lies: 5 million in the U.S, All together 10 million sold.
UYI I: 7 million in the U.S, All together 15 million sold.
UYI II: 7 million in the U.S, All together 15 million sold.
SPI?: 1 million in the U.S, All together 2 million sold.

Anyway... I think Lies sold more than 5 million and the Illusions sold less than 10 millions (each one).

No way Appetite has sold 30 million wordlwide. 23 million tops.

Zeppelin's 4th album has sold 22 million and ranks higher than Appetite on a list i saw(Which is updated continually.)

And Appetite is way bigger than Boston's first album. Appetite has sold as much in America than Boston's has worldwide.

It's kinda hard to give an accurate figure, you have to remember that these records continue to sell thousands of new copies every week.  For example AFD still sells approximately 5000 new copies every week.  It's pretty crazy if you think about it. :nervous:

It is actually 9000 Jellyhead........altogether they sell some 12,000 albums a week.

where do you get this info from? because I've been wondering how much AFD sells each week, myself.

Total sales(with GH)= around 89 million albums worldwide.

That's ENORMOUS especially by the fact that the band had only 5 or 6 years of full career. It's one of the most intensive success of Music History (rock, pop, metal, hip-hop whatever, every kind of music). To compare, It's nearly 3 times more than Nirvana and twice more than Oasis...
Maybe the band is going to reach the symbol figure of "100 million albums sold" when "chinese democracy" comes out.It is very likely.

You should precise those are estimations. Updated official numbers do not exist, or at least they're not available to the public. If you have reliable links to source this info, I think lots of people would be interested.

i remember reading somewhere before the tour was about to start back in 02, that they have sold over 80 million albums. so i would have to say that the 89 million is probably pretty accurate  :smoking:

yes in early 2002, Geffen Records made a press release saying the band had sold "over 80 million records". in 2 years and a half they sold 3 million records worldwide in add + around 6 million with the "greatest hits" album. 80+ 9 = 89 million. 8)
