Title: no more no more
Post by: mikegiuliana on November 24, 2004, 11:19:05 AM
How many people have heard the studio version of that cover?? I heard it for the first time yesterday and I have to say WOW, slash rips it up for about 2 minutes, it's great to hear him playing like that..  It's one of the longest solos one could ever hear him play.. I have been listening to song over n over..

The cover album was worth it just for that one song.. : ok:  ;D

I went to best buy and bought the three covers which came with a re released contraband.. It's been between 10 dollars n 13.99 If you live outside of the states I believe you have to send away for it..

It's surrender by cheap trick, no more no more by aerosmith and negative creep by nirvana..

I wonder if Contraband sales figures have increased since the re-release...

I'm sure it sold a few extra thousand this week, but nothing special.. ALot of big releases of late in the music world.. eminem, u2, shania twain's greatest hits, one of those now that's music volume 23242842848..

I'm sure they have ... by a small number of devoted fans who were screwed into buying a second album to get the bonus disc.  No one who isn't a fan of the band would buy a copy just for a couple of covers that were done better by the original artists.  Not the best way to give your fans something extra if you ask me.

I'm a fan and it didn't bother me in the least, I paid exactly what a cd cost, some even payed ten dollars for this album with the bonus tracks..

Either way I wanted the covers, the covers by themselves would have cost something anyways, it's not like the other contraband will go to waist.

Anyways it's not uncommon for a band to re release theire debut with something added.. No one is putting a gun to anyone's head

Lets say when cd comes out and they begin playing some other songs and they re release it, would it be a big deal to everyone, will they be ripping off the fans or will you buy it because you really like the group and their music.. I will chose the last part where I buy the music with the released album..

Now could it have been made like a gnr liess?? I think it could, but they are touring and I don't know what material they have ready.. Either way for me to spend $13.99 for soemthing I want is not a big deal, I will live I'm just glad anything new was offered and no more no more n surrender rocks so much that it was worth the price..

Dying to hear it, but I probably won't buy the disc unless I see it used or real cheap. Aerosmith is my favorite band and that song rocks. Slash went nuts on it live and I can't wait to hear the studio version...

I just got the hits daily double e -mail and just week they sold over 44 000 copies. Not to sure if it's a result of the bonus cd or the success of "Fall to Pieces".  The bonus cd is not really advertised and judging from everybody here it's only available at best buy.

I was disappointed 2/3 into the VR "no more no more". I thought it sounded OK, but I didn't like how they slowed it down a little in comparison to the aerosmith version which may be my favorite song Aerosmith ever did. Than Slash got to the solo and everything changed. It was soo fucking great to hear him play like that again. Hopefully on the next Vr album they'll have lots of that.
