Title: GNR Official Site's html summary Post by: MetaSouL on November 19, 2004, 08:05:20 AM Guns N' Roses official website (gnronline.com) has some interesting keywords in the header html used to describe the website (typically implanted by the web master on most sites). True, the actual site mentions nothing about the release date, but this summary information is buried somewhere in the offical code, which is how google describes its websites.

I don't waste much time in front of the GNR message board screens anymore, although I do read the interviews and stop by here from time to time. ?I do find it interesting that Dizzy mentions "February" as a possible release date. ?Tommy also eludes to it based on his "tour" quote. ?And last but not least, GNR's web master must have gotten his "keyword" info from a some pseudo official source.... -MetaSouL Title: Re: GNR Official Site's html summary Post by: Cowboy Buddha on November 20, 2004, 04:13:35 PM And in other breaking news, rumor has it Slash has left GNR!? ::) Title: Re: GNR Official Site's html summary Post by: pilferk on November 22, 2004, 11:30:40 AM There is nothing in the header, source, or ANY associated html code with the site that is forcing the description.? If you've found some, post it....I've scoured (as have the other resident "techies) that page from top to bottom...I could almost recite the darn source code by rote at this point...and we've never, ever found anything to point to their html headers giving the release date.
The reason it shows up is that another site, one google/yahoo uses to "populate" their searches, is maintaned, by hand and descriptions are uploaded manually.? THAT site is the one that lists the release date.? You can find EXTENSIVE discussion on the subject in other threads. Can ANYONE find me an example when google takes it's info NOT from the website it liks to???
