Title: November Rain on Letterman
Post by: GNFNRS on November 16, 2004, 10:35:15 AM
Did anyone see this last night?  I missed the start  of it but the announcer, Alan Kalter, dressed in an Elvis suit, sang part of November Rain last night with the band backing him.  It was horrible but absolutely hilarious.  I believe Letterman's word to describe it was "pathetic."  Like I said, I missed the start of it so I don't know why he did it.  Did anyone else catch the whole thing?

Yep I saw it. It was really funny... check the show's web site because they post a lot of clips. It's something they do a lot: Dave will ask Allen a question, and Allen will ham it up for about 2 minutes. He's actually pretty funny, and I thought he did a nice interpretation of the song! You can seriously tell he's listened to the song a few times because he plays off a lot of Axl's less-obvious vocal signatures.

I just checked the website, there wasn't any video but there was a written description.  Check it out if you want:  http://www.cbs.com/latenight/lateshow/exclusives/wahoo/

Who was the guest star that night? I might catch it when it airs over here...

I think it was Monday's show with Jerry Seinfeld. The November Rain thing was in the first half of the show. I should add, since Seinfeld was on the show you can expect a repeat of this episode in the next month or two.
