Last night on the radio station the DJ said they were getting a new Guns song in 2 weeks!! Hopefully he really knows something and its not just another rumor. Maybe this is the first leak in the media concerning chinese democracy. i remember about a month ago someone saying that GNR might have a new song on the 'Ocean's Twelve' soundtrack. Could this upcoming song be from that movie? I should have called the dj after hearing that but it was 2 in the morning and i was trying to go back to sleep. If there is someone here "in the know", please give us hardcore fans more info on this new information. I would love to know what song it is. Is it something new or one of the few that we've already heard?? Maybe all of our prayers are finally coming true!!!

the name of the radio station and it's call letters

the name of the DJ

Although maybe sometime a post like this has to become true, I don't believe this one.  A new song has to be officially  send by the record company I believe. If it's true, which I can't believe, the song has leaked to the radio station like I.R.S., right??. In this scenario, the radio station should prepare for a nice lawsuit.

To the majority of people the songs premiered in 2001 are new songs. Wasn't there some channel promising a new song almost a year ago, which proved out to be a soundboard recording of The Blues?

Naturally, GNR legal team quickly denied subsequent airings.  ;D

generally, when a single is released, the album is released in the fall.
We all know "chinese democracy" won't come out in the fall as we speak now in october 2004.

If a radio st. had a new single from GNR, they would surely not tell it 2.00 i the morning... It would be big news...

Most of the times artists aren't allowed to play any new material. Especially singles, so I think the chance is pretty big that the first single will be a song we've never heard before....

Personally I think if a radio station was about to debut a new GNR song it would be the front page headline on their website  and so far I've found nothing on their sites :no:

Even if this is true, it obviously wasn't meant to be an "official announcement".
The DJ could have just heard through a program manager or a source he has that a new GnR track would be coming in a couple of weeks.
If it was "official news" that a new GnR track would be released to rock radio in 2 weeks, it would be reported everywhere.
So, don't dismiss it altogether, but it's still a rumor at best.

I really wouldn't believe anything that either of these stations said. 96.7 is very clueless most of the time, I know, whenever theres a big tour getting announced or something, they will have the information completely wrong(I know, I've called to correct them before, and they were just going by what they had read online.) B93, I don't really listen to them, but as far as I know, its probably the same deal, after all, its just some radio stations in the central valley, and no one has any clue whats going on around here. I still might call 96.7 up later, though I know it is a lost cause.

Not true. Music directors get an update of what they should be getting in the coming weeks. Example Fall to Pieces was known a couple weeks before the single started on radio. They are called going for adds. Some radio station would\should have a list of what songs to expect for the Christmas season. If a new Guns song was to be played in 2 weeks every rock radio station would have or know someone who knows this. I would calk this one up as complete bullshit. Also if I heard this at 2 in the morning there is no way I would be able to fall asleep. My ass would either 1 be on the phone calling the jock or 2 on my way to the radio station.

Unless it's top secret, this is completely false.  I think we'll hear something officially before ANYTHING happens.
