Title: contract obligations..
Post by: mikegiuliana on October 22, 2004, 12:23:22 PM
I wanted to ask a question in regards to the gnr name if they owe any albums to geffen.. I was wondering if the band itself owed geffen an album according to their multi album contract, or is this album something that axl just wanted to do and geffen backed him?

Also was TSI just thrown out to fill their contract obligations..?

How many albums was gnr suppose tro give geffen when they signed their first contract?

Don't know about that one, but I got no doubt that was GH's job.

Kind of figured that one.. I really want to know if CD is just something axl wanted and geffen funded it.. I ask because how long can the one album be before geffen wants a finished product..?

unfortunately all of these said contracts are not public, so everything we have said is speculation.  we think that there was obviously some contractual agreement requiring a said number of albums by so and so date.  supposedly the rumor at the beginning of this year was that if no album was out by march so and so, the gh record had to come out.  its all speculation though

I doubt that the GH filled the rest of the band's contract or Axl would be relieved of his - I think it was just a cash grab.

Actually and surprisingly, I think that Chinese Democracy is something WANTED by Axl, something he wants to do and prove to the world for his sake, and not the record company's.

I think if axl needed money that badly he would have put the cd out long ago no matter how shitty it was just to grab some cash, but i dont think he needs money that bad therefore  he can spend time into  making this cd non shitty. :)

If he needed money he'd do a reality show. Any network would gladly give him one, especially MTV. They could call it "Which Axl Is Which?" and he'd make wheelbarrows full of money.
