I know this has been speculated loads of time before and the below quote could be about lots of people but i'm really bored so... U2 have just announced they won't be headlining glastonbury next year, but the guy who runs it says he still looking for a massive act to headline. Here's what he said Eavis said: "We know who we want the three headliners to be, but I can?t tell you who! What I will tell you is that we have sent someone out to the States this week to pursue an artist we want. Yes, they are American and yes, they are of superstar proportions. That?s all I can say!" Glastonbury 2005 will take place on the weekend of June 24-26, license permitting. Not many heavy rock bands play there, U2, REM, Strokes, that type of stuff. Just my opinion but i think it would be a mistake for either band to play at Glastonbury.

They arent strictly indie, they pull in a wide varierty of genres. They do tend to have a rockier band on the bill each year - Muse for example, the darkness, reef, hell nine inch nails played, the list goes on...

Glasto is far more indy based and i think that the target glasto audience would feel alienated if Gn'R were to play.
