VELVET REVOLVER Cancel Rooftop Concert After Failing To Secure City Permit - Oct. 11, 2004?

VELVET REVOLVER have cancelled their planned rooftop show on the West Hollywood Sunset Strip on Tuesday, October 12 after they were unable to secure a city permit required to play the gig, BLABBERMOUTH.NET has learned. The band are currently looking at several alternatives, including moving the show to a different date (possibly Wednesday) and another location that does not require a permit. More information will be made available soon.?

So I guess VR lied to their fans about playing this show. That is too bad.

Sounds like the band is trying to make up the date for the fans, and they even gave us a reason why its not happening. There are still 15,000 people in Philly waiting for a show and a reason why it was cancelled. Your comparing Apples to Oranges in this situation. I would much rather have VR's version of lying to the fans over Axl's if it means still getting to see the show and informing you of why you aren't seeing it on the original date. But that just me and who likes a liar anyway.

Axl gave a reason for BC and people gave him shit for it, what do you expect? Please CC NEVER gave a reason for the cancellation either, so what does that tell you? GAG ORDER, that is what. You really think if it was 100% axls fault CC woudl not have come out and say it right way?

Anyways not to get off topic but, this was actually a good idea by VR but too bad it was ripping off the  beatles.

The coolest guy in the world strikes again!!!

You just make yourself look like an idiot. First of all no one calls Axl a liar for canceling his shows. People call him an asshole for not showing up.  Your sensless crying about people not being fair to Axl is so old. There is a big fucking difference in canceling a FREE show that they could not get a permit for and are trying to reschedule, than being a no show more than once to a shows that people paid for and causing riots. Then not even having the least bit of respect to offer an explanation.  The only person that finds a problem with it is you. People may be disappointed but no one is pissed off. There weren't riot sin the streets of LA over it.

The only person looking like an idiot is you with your person attacks, you want to call me names, take it to PMs please, the board doesnt want to read your trolling against board members thank you very much

. And sorry to tell you but axl is not the one causing riots, its the idiot fans that think its cool to riot. Its like saying, Oh its some sports team fault for winning a world championship because their fans rioted after the game.  I have been to a few shows that got cancelled hours before the show and no one rioted.

Like i have said before the first show axl cancelled he gave a legit reason yet people still bashed him.  At the philly show a reason was given that a band member was sick, yet that was not good enough? And like I said CC never gave an offical reason either, so what does that tell you?

I always thought this quote refers to another band... Hey Dave, I get used to like your posts, I find it's kinda funny how you think, although I'm sure that you are joking all the time just to test people.

PS: Don't forget to call Slash a liar for the Bumblefoot thing, too!

Yeah, really...who wants to see a free concert?  What a horrible idea.  Itd be way cooler to pay over $50 to watch them from the back of an arena.

VELVET REVOLVER

FOR FREE PERFORMANCE

AFTER CITY OF WEST HOLLYWOOD REJECTS PERMIT FOR BAND TO PLAY ATOP HUSTLER HOLLYWOOD STORE ON THE SUNSET STRIP;

The city of West Hollywood, CA has declined a permit for VELVET REVOLVER to perform Tuesday night, October 12 atop the Hustler Hollywood store, Larry Flynt's adult emporium on the Sunset Strip. Flynt, whom VELVET REVOLVER feel embodies the true rebellious spirit of rock 'n roll, had signed off on the band's wish to perform a set of songs from their platinum CONTRABAND album for fans before heading out of town to launch their national concert tour Saturday, October 16.

Now comes word that rock's most explosive new group--lead singer SCOTT WEILAND, guitarist SLASH, bassist DUFF McKAGAN, drummer MATT SORUM and guitarist DAVE KUSHNER--will perform Wednesday night, October 13 at another Los Angeles location, to be revealed Wednesday afternoon.

All I do is take what people have said about axl and the new band and when something similiar comes up  with VR and say the same thing about Vr.

How can you call a (free) show where they couldn't make it do to permitts the same as when gnr cancels huge gigs and doesn't show up and causes riots? Gnr will have you siot there watch two bullshit opening acts and not even show up and then damage occurs to the arenas in which they were to play, and to top it off they DON'T make up their missed shows, unlike vr that does.. You're really looking for comparisons where there are none.. You're definetly a misery loves company type of guy..

I don 't think axl's a liar either, just a douche bag when it comes to the fans..

Yeah I'm just not seeing any similarities........the permit shit sucks, it happens, but VR was quick to jump on the gun and get another show ready.  I couldn't even imagine how awesome it would be to be there live and catch that.  I really hope someone can film this.  I think it's going to be one hell of a show.
