I don't know right now but this is what she just called and told me. She lives in Indianna and works across the river at a club in Louisville, Ky.

Not saying any thing is true but this is what she called to tell me at 330 in the morning.

I'll believe my sister until I have a reason not to. She has a had a habit of meeting bands and not knowing it as well. She used to work at Joe's Crab Shack and she sat STP and Default (such an important band haha) without knowing it.  :rofl: Then one of her friends came over all excited, explaining who they were. My sister was pretty nervous for the rest of the night.

And i'll believe you untill i have a reason not to too.

So Axl's in Kentucky playing acoustic shows?

And we were thinking he'd start in maybe December or maybe early next year, but I guess he couldn't wait to start the tour.  ;)


If this happened, I think it'll be on MTV.com soon. Just like his appearance with Gilby in 2000 and the Las Vegas strip club appearance.

huh...If it's true, why did he go there?  Was he visiting family in Indiana and then stopped over in Kentucky to play some songs??  Do his brother & sister still live in Indiana?

Well the club is relatively new. The place was more like a mall before. Not it is still a mall type place but some clubs in there too. Oh . . . it was called the Galleria. Anybody whos ever been to downtown Louisville will have heard of it. It's a big glass building.

Here is a little news on when the area formerly known as the Galleria went through renovations.

No I'm not telling a fib here but this is just trusting my sister. She would never lie to me about any thing as we've had a great relationship over the years. I even took her with me to see GNR back in November 2002.  :) So if this doesn't pan out then I'm sorry.

We'll see what develops though.

Skid Row did play an acoustic set on Sept 14th at the same place. Maybe it was Vince Niel (Motley Crue)  or some other 80s' rocker.

Hmm.. i think they should be able to see the different between Axl and Vince... Was this yesterday?? Then im sure we will hear the news pretty soon..

Well I called the 4Th Street Live which this place is part of and all i got was an answering machine. I have yet to find a number for the actual club.

So this is how the story goes after talking to my sister again:

The manager of the bar my sister works at (Sully's) was talking with some other guys about TSI. My sister walks in and is like what about it?  And they say you like GNR? She says yeah I saw them with my bro in 2002. The bouncer says he saw them in Madison Square. Then the manager says some thing like, "Well this is very secret but Axl is playing an acoustic show at The Saddle Ridge tonight. It's only a VIP show so not many people are getting in."

From what she was saying it wasn't an advertised show. Just some thing setup for who ever these VIP were.

One thing that throws me off is that another manager for the place said he bought a backstage pass for $500. One thing: Why would a manager have to buy a pass? Two: $500?

I'm getting a little tired of this myself. I've been searching for phone numbers and what not but nothin much. These clubs are all very new so phone numbers aren't in the phone books yet. Sully's has only been opened for 3 weeks now and Saddle Ridge not much longer than that.

Any other Kentuckian's (still living in the 'Ville) having any more luck? The number I called earlier was 502-584-7170 but they won;t be open until Monday.

Yeah, I'm getting a deja vu of July '03, when Axl waltzed into a strip bar, previewed CD, hung around and left without any other notice than a small blurb in the MTV news.

This does sound a little unbelievable but axl has done this type of shit before.  I am from Lafayette and I'd say it's probably like 3 hours from where this supposedly took place. Now I don't know if his parent still live there or what but.... who knows. I do know there have been a few random axl sightings in Lafayette.... but not for years. I thought axl hates Indiana now and says he'd never go back....? If that's the case then I doubt this story... but I hope it is true!

And Sorry to say this but, Mateoson.  Axl's Mom past away in May of 96 (not sure right now on the date). And I don't think he would visit his dad, last I heard he was still there. Have heard he does visit once and awhile still (family and friends)

From what I can tell, the only live band at 4th Street last night was Marion Dries and the Dissidents.

Saddle opened, again, from what I can tell, around the 14th of Sept, with a Skid Row show.

I'm gonna try to track down a number to call on Monday.

I'm punching walls right now.  I was at a haunted boat tonight right beside where Axl played.  I lived in Louisville, Kentucky.  This is such a downer I'm telling my sister and my girl how Axl was there and they don't believe me.  I"m so drunk right now its not even funny!!  Was he really there!  I believe this post 100% because Louisville is this shit and Axl WILL come back soon.  I want to know if this is true.  My god I can't believe I missed it, I was right beside it all night tonight and didn't know he was there!@!!!!!! ahghhhhh!!!!

So like I said this place hasn't been open long. Yes I called but the number listed is for thier office open Monday-Friday. Hell I gave the number here didn't I?  ::)

The number is as of yet unlisted in the Yellow Pages and I've had trouble finding a number for the club.

VIP only show would not be listed in any calendar of events so why bother with that? I told you my sister would talk to the manager but it could be a week.

I have the number right here, it says they're open until 4 am.  It's 2:30 am right now.  I've been trying to call but NO answer.  My friend is coming to pick me up to go there to see what's up because this is crazy.  It better not be bullshit because I'm going ALL the way back downtown to see if Axl is really fuckin there. 

There some obvious stuff here:


1. His sister is telling the truth
2. She was lied to for the fun of it
3. People mistook Axl for some other guy and told his sister.


He's not lying when he tells you this, he was told something by his sister. The weak link is
the people telling his sister or something.

Seemingly, part of this was directed at me.? I'm not talking about live events schedules.? I'm talking about emailing and phoning people who would know.? Everyone has said the only live band playing in the 4th Street complex on Friday was Marion Dries.

And at least one person who emailed me back remembers the Saddle Club as being open to the public Friday night, all night.

I've got an email out to Marion Dries to see what they know.? And I'll call monday morning to see what I can turn up.

I was too drunk to even move last night man, and my g/f made me stay home, lol.  Anyway, I believe this as Axl is from Indiana and probably played a show for a few close friends in Louisville which is 5 mins away from where his friends probably still live.  I will find out tons of information tomorrow as I'm going up there and calling every number I have over here.  They're closed Sundays so heres to waiting :beer:

Cripes! If Axl is in the area I need to go make a poster and stand out on 65 North (for all you non Indiana peeps, thats the highway that runs from Louisville all the way up Indiana) and flag his ass down....I don' tknow if Axl's bro or sis still lives here..maybe I'm wrong..but I wouldn't think he hates Indiana so much he'll never step foot here...I sure hope the story is true!

I really don't buy this one. If it was a secret gig in his hometown, then I would imagine it to be inivtations only...its not as if Axl needs the money. It makes him sound like a luxury busker.

This is crazy.  I tried calling there and talked to a guy that said they've been out of town and just got back from Ohio.  The people that were there that night Friday I believe it was, will be there tomorrow (Tuesday).  They're also closed today so it was by chance that he answered the phone.  All of the answers will surface about this tomorrow, hopefully.  He did say stuff like that does happen there, and they've had private acts actually play VIP shows.

and the plot thickens... its so funny that any gnr rumor is never black and white.  i guess we'll see.  someone please keep up on this, b/c im curious as to what the explanation is, especially if it wasn't axl.

This place is leading me to believe that this really did happen.  I talked to a guy at first that said stuff like that does happen and big names have been there for VIP only.  The next guy I talked to said he heard something about this and to check back in tomorrow.  So here we go again, I'm really trying to find out if this happened and I will ecspecialy by Friday when the staff is back in.

First of all 2000 intentions, your sister works there all you have to do is call her and see if it's true.  Tell her to ask all the staff members/manager what the hell exactly happened.  Don't be lazy and wait for me to respond.  Anyway here is what happened in my research.  I've called a few times, one guy said he did hear something about Axl stopping in or being there or whatever.  I called again and the guy said there was no way that Axl was there even though it would give the club great press.  If you want to try and see if it's true the number is 502-569-3507.  I got two different answers so I guess it's a 50/50 chance that he played there.

If this was really  true, I think it would have been on mtv.com by now. Something this big just doesnt go unmentioned.

Here?s what I?m thinking. If there?s any truth in what these people are saying, that work at that place, then maybe it?s simply a case where A. was out with a few friends having some sort of mini celebration, and they just wanted to be in an area where they would get no hassles. And maybe, just maybe they were celebrating the fact that CD is complete? :beer:

The way I see it, it easily could have happened. You don't think reporters camp outside Axl's house a follow him everywhere do you?

Axl goes many places all the time and it's not reported everytime he leaves his house.

If there was some private small show for a reason, then it would have to be somewhere, and it wouldn't be leaked to the press, so it's not necessarily gonna turn up on MTV. This would have been a lot more private than the strip joint incident.

As to whether it actually happened - hmmmmmm.....

My fault 2000 intentions, I didn't mean to sound like an asshole.  I just want some truth to the rumor so maybe one of us can actually can a straight answer within the next few days.  Good luck with asking your sister, but anyway I called again and they said they heard "something" about Axl Rose being around.  So I'm not really sure what exactly happened that night, but I will find out.

Like I said before the guys there don't really know my sister well. She'd only worked there a couple weeks. She joined a conversation about Axl/GNR and the convo apparently started because Axl was there. Thats what her story led me to believe. I mean do people in clubs just randomly talk about Axl? Especially a bouncer, two club managers and a beer tub girl (my sister)? And why would they want to discuss TSI? Some thing had to strike up that conversation.

So yeah, I'd like to believe it happened. Will we get proof? hahaa Do we ever?? :P

I'll be brave and say theres a 60-40 chance that Axl played there. To be on MTV, someone needs to report it, no-one did. Simple.

So now your sister quits?  I'm sorry, but that seems highly suspect.  If she did work there, even if it was only one shift, she could still call there and find out the truth in one minute.  I think this is another false rumor that has wasted everybody's time.

I'm a little too old to like Avril or Sum41, thank you.  And I'm quite sure the monetary benefits of being a beer tub girl are few indeed.  It's not the point.  If, your sister had the conversation, she should be able to verify the fact, quickly and easily, she needn't know them well to do that.  Since she is your sister and you posted this rumour and have been unable to complete this simple task.....I think it speaks for itself. 

It's not like I had hopes this was true or anything, I really don't care, I don't expect anything these days, but it's annoying when people keep making posts like this.

Point A: This isn't a question in my sisters head of what happened.

Point B: She is sure it did because she believes them. What she didn't believe was the backstage pass crap.

I posted this hoping somebody would be able to clear this up. I got the story but I haven't been able to get any further.

The story was fishy from the beginning.
Even smells more like fish now, with him not being able to get more facts, saying we need to drop it and move on, and getting mad at people questioning him.

I think somebody just wanted to see if they could make up a rumor and hear it announced on MTV.

Axl does like playing guitar quite a bit these days.  I'm thinking it did happen, why would anyone even tell me that they heard something around the club if it didn't.  I guess we'll never know if no one fesses up at the club, but I'm starting to believe Axl was there more and more.  What better place to get guitar practice?

The only thing that gets me pissed, is not the quyestions, but people calling me a liar. Wouldn't you feel the same? I came here to share this info as soon as i got it because I thought it was exciting news. Especially exciting because we just don't get to hear about things like this.

I'm saying get over it because I don't have a way of getting any more info. If you can tell me a better source than the managers of the club and the club below it then please tell me. Thats who told my sister. I just don't know what else I can do for you people.  ::)

Right, that's what I meant.  I don't know if Axl played there or not, but I think 2000 intentions is telling us the truth about what he knows.  Its messed up for people to treat him like some random new person who starts spreading rumors the day they join the board.
