Title: Band's Trademark songs
Post by: kj_jive on September 29, 2004, 03:13:39 PM
I got this idea in a very similar thread in Dead Horse.

Anyhow, just name a band and say what you think their signature song is or the song that has become most associated with them.  It doesn't necesarilly even have to be bands you like (Creed, Nickleback).  It just seems like a fun idea.

The Who- My Generation
The Kinks- You really got me
Alice in Chains-Man in the Box
Oasis-Wonderwall
The Beatles-Can't decide right now
RHCP-Under the bridge (Although i think its their worst song)

Soundgarden - Black Hole Sun
Guns n' Roses - Sweet Child o' Mine
Faith No More - Epic
Skid Row - 18 and Life
The Stones - Satisfaction or SFTD

Hmmm...I'm gonna have to go with

Skid Row-Youth Gone Wild.  Think its a little bit more well known than 18L.
Stones-Satisfaction

good additions though :peace:

nah man, it's gotta be 18 and Life. everywhere I go if I'm wearing a Skids shirt, someone's like "18 and Life!" or something. that's their trademark song, trust me, lol.

As I said in Dead Horse, huge bands don't have ONE trademark song.Saying that RHCP's trademark song is Under the Bridge or Judas' song is You've got another thing coming is really naive. Not to mention The Rolling Stones...

Let's leave one-hit-wonders to other gendres of music and Nirvana :)

huge bands don't have ONE trademark song.

Trademark being the one their most known for, despite it's quality or whathaveyou. Of course, one could argue that Satisfaction is more popular than SFTD, but it's still a firm choice.

AC/DC - Highway To Hell
Metallica - Enter Sandman
Led Zeppelin - Stairway To Heaven
Black Sabbath - Paranoid

I'm so sick of half these songs, because that's all you ever hear by them on the radio or wherever.

I realize these bands aren't one hit wonders and it's difficult to peg them down to one song. However, that's what I'm trying to do here.

Alice Cooper=Schools Out
The Clash= Rock the Casbah (unfortunately)

Deep Purple's trademark is definately Smoke on the Water. I don't know where you live where Highway Star is thought of that way, because most people I know who hear the song have no idea its deep purple.
