Here Today... Gone To Hell!

does anyone else pick up on any similarities between The Garden and Welcome to the Jungle? i don't mean musically, more like the theme of the songs, both seem critical of some aspect of society, they seem to address the grittier side, not quite sure, was watchin wttv today and just somehow the two seemed similar. or maybe im just thinking too much :confused:....thoughts anyone?

Yea, I kinda agree with ya on that one, can't be arsed writing any more but yea, kinda spot on!

I think the one difference is that "The Garden" is mostly sexual based, while Jungle is just about the streets in general.

Yes both songs represent urban America, the gritty side of two huge citys.
It's good how Axl used metaphors like 'The Jungle' for LA and 'The Garden' for NYC. Looking at the titles you would picture a Jungle or Garden but it is only when you listen to the song and the lyrics that it becomes evident that Axl is using these words only as a metaphor for something much more horrifying. I also think the visuals for both songs portrayed this well.

GNR's anthem based on society in general was Garden of Eden. listen to lyrics, if u understand what the fuck hes saying.
