Title: Has anyone tried this?
Post by: fixintodie on September 08, 2004, 11:04:07 AM
I'm just wondering, has anyone ever e-mailed management to ask them straight, why Axl won't communicate with his fans anymore? We were promised a release date in 'a few months' (well, ok - not promised) back in March and haven't heard anything, as we're all painfully aware. Would it kill Axl to just come out of his cave for 2 minutes and say 'Thanks for your patience, you're gonna have to hold out just a little longer. We'll be announcing a release date by the end of the year." Or something along those lines? Hell, why not go nuts and thank his fans for their continued support? Sorry, I just made myself laugh.

But seriously, I'd love to know why Axl won't let his fans know a damn thing. One statement in March, and then he just leaves us hanging. I'd love to know what management would say.

(Before anyone says 'Well, why don't you e-mail them'? Easy, I don't know the address, and I don't want to bother them if tons of people have already asked the same.)

I'm not expecting a release date. Just a statement to follow up the one he gave us 6 months ago.

Yeah, I lost a lot of respect for Axl in not answering Mysteron's 10 questions. But I wonder if anyone has asked why.

Its a catch 22 situation. Management, specifically Merck, seems to reply to Mysterons emails. Thats the way it should stay. If loads of people started emailing management asking them questions then they are more than likely going to get annoyed and not bother replying to any of mysterons questions. Has Mysteron sent an email back to management asking anything along the lines of why Axl doesnt keep his fanbase involved at all. I think a large part of it is because Axl regards the Internet as one big 'garbage can'. Shame really if that is the case!

Jonx, about this big 'garbage can', Yeah, he might be pissed with a certain aspect of the net but it doesn?t mean he hates fans on the net or never makes use of it.

'Thanks for your patience, you're gonna have to hold out just a little longer. We'll be announcing a release date by the end of the year.'
I think the BTM incident, which was about 3 months later the announcement, and the following info from Mysteron n Tommy pretty much explain the situation along those lines.  :-\

I doubt that we can get any further info from the management by pumping out emails.

You can ask the management why, and they'll simply say "when we have something to share, we will."

Having worked on a project that was relatively highly anticipated within the community it was targeted, I can kind of relate (OK, so we had about a thousand fans versus 30 million).? We didn't want to share anything until we were ready with our full plan.? It was all just kept under wraps until everything was in place and ready to go.? It actually kind of makes sense, as frustrating as it can seem to those who anticipate it.
