Title: Best Frontman of all time Survivor! Post by: Ignatius on September 06, 2004, 08:03:41 PM Following the success of GNR and VR survivors, I thought about doing this....
We are gonna try to keep it simple and fun. You make the list. Not me. I'm gonna divide this section into 5 different categories. The 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's & 00's. We are gonna start in reverse order, starting from 00's Just supply a list of the 10 frontmen from this decade that you think should be considered to enter the best frontman of all time survivor. Once I cast the votes, I'll then provide the list with the most voted frontmen from this decade based on your votes. You will then vote off your least favorite ( as done in the Contraband survivor) to finally get a winner. We will then move to the 90's, then 80's and so on. Once we have our 5 best frontman of all time, we will then enter the grand finale and vote for the ultimate frontman of all time. Rules.- 1.- As said, you make the list. not me. Majoritiy wins. 2.- 10 frontman per decade. That's all. If you can't come up with 10, just supply as many as you can. The purpose of this votation is to have as many people involved as possible. 2.- Just for the purpose of this game, a frontman is group singer ( with or without instrument) in a band of at least 3. No solo acts. Examples, Kurt Cobain could be a frontman, same as Joel Strummer or Billy Joe Armstrong. On the other hand, Robert Palmer, Jimmy Hendrix or Bryan Adams are not considered frontmen. 3.- List the frontman's name and the group where he belongs. 4.-We will have scenarios where a frontman could be considered for more than one decade. Examples, Bono, Mick Jagger, Axl Rose...I will leave that up to your own judgement, but always try to place the artist to when he shined the most or to when he had the most impact. 5.-Let's try to keep it to rock music. All genres, but rock. I think that's all. I will leave this thread open for the next couple of days or so will you cast your votes in. Remember, first thing to do is to come up with your own list of the top 10 frontman of this decade. Once we have the list, you will vote off your least favorite ( but that won't happen till thursday) If any of you have any suggestions or comments, feel free to pm me or post them here. One more thing, this is a GNR message board, and most likely, Axl will win. So, in order to create more excitement, should we consider Axl for this or not?
