Title: Funny quote from someone who worked on Chinese
Post by: madagas on September 02, 2004, 01:03:58 PM
Stevie confirmed that he was not going to be appearing on Chinese Democracy; "....sorry to say(or perhaps not we will have to listen)that i am not on the cd when we jammed they had each guy with a protool rig adding hours of little things...you know bells and whistles and the concept was,at least to my understanding that they would sift through hours of music to search for one section that perhaps would be a great part of a song then they would take that piece of music and start the process over?? i thought they were all mad..."? Supposedly this guy's name is Stevie Salas-don't know who he is but I think it is very safe to assume that this project will be completely over the top and self indulgent. Add this to Buckmasters comments, Tommy's, and everyone else. "I thought they were all mad!"-says it all. My source is the ever present "rumor board". Take it for what it is worth. :hihi:

"sift through hours of music to search for one section that perhaps would be a great part of a song"

...and then Axl the guitar playing progammer will  assemble all the odds and ends to make some new music. That's just what Oh My God sound liked to me  ;)

We don't want another scrapped together cover tracks like Spaghetti Incident do we?  I sure as hell don't that album disgraced the GN'R name even though I do some what like it.  Bring on some original material, were all ready for it Axl.

me too! I don't understand why so many people dislike TSI...I mean the songs rock. It is nothing more and nothing less then a cover album where the band haves some fun with excisting songs "Do yourself a favour and go find the originals" That's what they did. Some fun after the illusions tour to blow of some steam.

That's what they did. Some fun after the illusions tour to blow of some steam.

Not so... these songs were all recorded (well almost every one of them) when the Use Your Illusions albums were done.  They were all recorded in the same sessions.  In fact, I have the demo's of some of the songs.

But yes, its a great album, and in fact, it is Gn'R's heavest rock record too, in the mixing, the album is fatter in sound than any of the previous.

Great stuff.

But onto the CD thing... it's gonna be a great album for sure, but I don't really think it will sound like Guns N' Roses used to sound.  But since it's an entirely different band, and virtually all of GnR's sound relied on mainly Axl and Slash, musically it wont sound anything like GnR.

Spaghetti was mostly recorded during the Illusions sessions-Gilby came in later and redid Izzy's parts. What a shame because Gilby blows (I do think he is a pretty good guy though). For a reference read the Rolling Stone article where Slash is interviewed and was on the cover.
