Title: Re: superbowl predictions ? Post by: slave2thegrind on September 01, 2004, 11:10:42 AM Raiders all the way!!
Title: Re: superbowl predictions ? Post by: Mr Cowbell ? on September 01, 2004, 03:18:27 PM Im thinking NE, they didnt loose much in the off season and they got a RB who if stays healthy will make them stronger then last season.
Title: Re: superbowl predictions ? Post by: D on September 01, 2004, 03:32:20 PM Repeating in the NFL is the most difficult thing to do, also the Patriots won the superbowl last year and finished up winning 14 games in a row, they never really dominated anyone, they won alot of close ballgames, and those same bounces and breaks usuallydont keep goin the same way.
With Deion Sanders comin back to Baltimore, im predicting baltimore vs philadelphia with baltimore winning Title: Re: superbowl predictions ? Post by: Mr Cowbell ? on September 01, 2004, 10:49:55 PM D, how well do you think Deon is gonna be in helping the Ravens, he's not a spring chicken. Will this be a comeback like Micheal Jordan did the first time with the bulls? Or more of the Second MJ comeback with the wizards.
Title: Re: superbowl predictions ? Post by: D on September 02, 2004, 12:13:07 AM D, how well do you think Deon is gonna be in helping the Ravens, he's not a spring chicken. Will this be a comeback like Micheal Jordan did the first time with the bulls? Or more of the Second MJ comeback with the wizards. in his prime Deion ran a 4.18 40 yard dash, now at 37 years old he's been clocked at a 4.38 40 which is still damn great! he will be a nickel back now not a shut down corner, he still has his knowledge of the game and most of his ability, he went from being the fastest man in the NFL to now being still as fast as most of the corners. He will help the Ravens already great defense considerably, also his reputation will scare quarterbacks away from throwing his direction. I think if Kyle Boller can prove that he is an NFL quarterback, and Jamaal lewis stays out of prison they can win it all. Boller has to run an efficient offense and not give the game away, if they can win with Trent Dilfer they can win with Kyle Boller if he manages the game properly, with Ray Lewis,Chris Mcallister,Ed Reed,Deion, and Terrell Suggs, their defense is gonna be almost unpenetratable. Title: Re: superbowl predictions ? Post by: Timothy on September 02, 2004, 01:56:02 PM Damn Deion Sanders :'(
Title: Re: superbowl predictions ? Post by: N.I.B on September 02, 2004, 09:56:50 PM My Pats got Dillon, so we should do even better this year, if we dont choke.....
Title: Re: superbowl predictions ? Post by: D on September 02, 2004, 10:34:24 PM corey dillon is a good running back but he's been known to be a cancer, lets see how he acts when he doesnt touch the ball as much. also if tom brady were to be injured its over for the Pats.
The Patriots have gotten very lucky over the years, the bullshit tuck play against the Raiders, new rules are in place with the passing game, so we will see how effective Ty Law is when he isnt allowed to be as physical and put his hands all over wideouts. im predicting Minnesota Vikings vs Baltimore Ravens Ravens winning 23-16 Title: Re: superbowl predictions ? Post by: N.I.B on September 03, 2004, 01:39:28 PM Just becaause the vikings got lesner as a DL right? :P True enoucgh with your comment, but i doubt the ravens will even make it to thw wildcard round.
Title: Re: superbowl predictions ? Post by: D on September 03, 2004, 02:21:15 PM lesnar got cut, he may make the practice squad or go to NFL Europe.
The Vikings started out 6-0 last year but faded simply cause there defense sucked, chris hovan lost some weight and should be back to form on the defensive line, they picked up an excellent free agent corner in Winfield, DT Kevin Williams is a year older and should be better. RB Micheal Bennet will be healthy for the entire season and they picked up a good possession type compliment for Moss in Marcus Robinson. The safe NFC superbowl pick is the Eagles, since they've made it to the last 3 NFC championship games, but Terrell Owens and Jevon Kearse maybe should put them over the top, im not puttin my money on it. Title: Re: superbowl predictions ? Post by: N.I.B on September 03, 2004, 04:53:03 PM good argument
Title: Re: superbowl predictions ? Post by: K-Rock on September 11, 2004, 05:20:39 PM Indianapolis over Philly in the Super Bowl, 31-17.
Title: Re: superbowl predictions ? Post by: axl_rose_700 on September 13, 2004, 04:50:42 PM Can't see much further than New England this year. Hopefully Green Bay will do well, and I can see Baltimore and The Colts doing well.

That play was questionable, but the raiders wouldnt of won it all that year, and I am tired of people living on that one moment. Brady is a great, consistent QB, he lead threm past the raider game and lead them perfectly threw the last playoff. Brady will be put next to Montana when he is done with Title: Re: superbowl predictions ? Post by: D on September 13, 2004, 07:42:31 PM i have to absolutely agree!
i use to hate tom brady and think he was over rated but i tell u what i must give this guy his props! he is phenomenal! absolutely the best qb and will go down in history as one of the best! Terrell Owens looked pretty damn impressive yesterday, i think he's gonna live up to the hype! how bout my Vikings superbowl prediction? they look pretty damn amazing! Title: Re: superbowl predictions ? Post by: C0ma on September 13, 2004, 10:00:44 PM Until someone can find a way to beat the Patriots defense I'm sticking with my hometown team. Plus they are a shoe-in to win the AFC East and I defy anyone to beat them in Foxboro during January. I also don't see the chuck rule making much of a difference in Ty Law's game, physical or not he is one of the top 2 DB's in football.
For the NFC, I'd say it will probably be the Eagles. I just can't see Donnovan McNabb picking apart the Pats defense, they are to complex. As far as the tuck rule, it is an actual rule. It happened and was ruled correctly. Either way it was payback for the 1976 AFC chamionship where the Pats would have beaten the Raiders if not for a Phantom Ruffing the Passer Penalty. Title: Re: superbowl predictions ? Post by: D on September 13, 2004, 10:15:09 PM thats true, i mean besides the Raiders still had chances to win the game so its not like that play alone lost them the game.
Peyton manning is just an over rated crybaby sometimes, he is a great quarterback but he shoots his team in the foot a lot, like brett favre. they think any throw is possible because of their ungodly arm strength and their ego's get them beat. all of ty law's picks were legit against indy, he wasnt holding etc etc, manning just made piss poor decisions! Title: Re: superbowl predictions ? Post by: DemocracyRose on September 14, 2004, 10:05:31 AM Minnesota Vikings....
Because Morten Andersen is on team. BEST KICKER IN HISTORY!!!!!! Title: Re: superbowl predictions ? I heard a funny little thing on Boston Sports Radio this past week:Roses are Red Chocolate is Rich Colts can't beat the Pats 'Cause Peyton's a Bitch Title: Re: superbowl predictions ? :'( Ya gotta have hope! If you're a die hard fan of a team logic can allude you. Luckily my 2nd fave team is the Pats :) I'll be happy if they win again. They are so well coached and know how to get it done. Title: Re: superbowl predictions ? Post by: C0ma on September 14, 2004, 03:38:47 PM If you're a die hard fan of a team logic can allude you. Which explains the Baseball obsession with everyone like me who lives in the Boston area. Title: Re: superbowl predictions ? Post by: D on September 14, 2004, 03:45:25 PM yeah Coma but look at the Redsox now! they have almost made it all the way back, and now with Kevin Brown out for the Yankees and the addition of Curt Schilling *who beat the yankees along with randy johnson and u can argue that pedro is as good as randy* i think boston has a legit shot.
Let me ask u something Coma, im from Kentucky, so i dont know a whole lot about Boston fans. Lets say you guys beat the Yankees but lose in the world series, willthe curse still be alive? I still am glad they didnt go through on the AROD deal, i think trading manny ramirez wouldve been crazy! Manny Ramirez if its possible is one of the most under rated hitters in all of baseball, this man gets nowhere near the credit he deserves. anyhow my fav team is the Vikings 2nd is the Cowboys ive been a cowboy fan since i was like 5 and all those years of losing made me a tough fan also, im also an atlanta Braves fan since i was around 5 or 6 and those 100 loss seasons sucked! but finally in the 90s being a fan paid off with the braves impressive run and the cowboys 3 super bowls! Was very tough watchin the Cowboys and Vikings sunday, was hard for me to cheer either way. corey dillon looked good but did anyone see the scowl he had on his face on the bench, i mean he only touched the football 15 times or so? Dillion has always been a me first person, so im anxious to see if he keeps gettin looked over and doesnt get 20 plus carries if he will start whining like he did in cincy, especially if they lose a couple of games. Title: Re: superbowl predictions ? Post by: D on September 14, 2004, 03:47:13 PM new dark horse team
Denver Broncos their defense with Champ Bailey is unbelievable! Plus Quentin Griffin outdid Clinton Portis on their first days. watch out for the broncos! Title: Re: superbowl predictions ? Post by: the dirt on September 14, 2004, 04:02:29 PM Lets say you guys beat the Yankees but lose in the world series, willthe curse still be alive? Yes it would. The curse of the bambino will be broken only after the bosox win the WS. Title: Re: superbowl predictions ? I don't like to think about them has having the best chance......that makes it hurt that much worse Quote Let me ask u something Coma, im from Kentucky, so i dont know a whole lot about Boston fans. Lets say you guys beat the Yankees but lose in the world series, willthe curse still be alive? If you belive in the curse then yes (supposedly it was broken opening day this year when Robert Kraft (patriots owner) brought a bag of dirt from Gilete stadium and spread it accross the infield at Fenway) To make our internal torture worse..... If we were to win the World Series, but not beat the Yankees on the way. It would be a hollow victory (at least thats what some say) Quote I still am glad they didnt go through on the AROD deal, i think trading manny ramirez wouldve been crazy! Manny Ramirez if its possible is one of the most under rated hitters in all of baseball, this man gets nowhere near the credit he deserves. Best Right Handed Hitter in the American League over the last few yearsQuote corey dillon looked good but did anyone see the scowl he had on his face on the bench, i mean he only touched the football 15 times or so?? He claims he is too old to care about stats and carries just as long as they keep winning, but I think his numbers will pick up over the course of the season anyway, esspecialy with the way late fall/winter gets up here.Title: Re: superbowl predictions ? Post by: Cowboy Buddha on September 21, 2004, 02:02:08 AM Raven Vs. Pats AFC / Vikings or Seahawks Vs. Eagles NFC.? ?Superbowl Pats Vs. Vikings/Eagles.? Eagles will not win, Vikings or Pats.? Most likely the Pats.? The Vikings will show some potential this year.? :peace:
EDIT: The Vikings are starting to look doubtful, Sad to say. Injuries are starting to rack up in week 2. Rosenthal is done for the year and Kleinsasser maybe facing season ending injury. :crying: Title: Re: superbowl predictions ?
