Title: Tommy Interview Post by: younggunner on July 28, 2004, 11:24:35 PM got this from the gnrbar....
From Kerrang 'The Shit List' column, where artists list their top 10 pet hates. One of Stinson's is 'Chinese Democracy Rumours': "People just keep asking me. It has evolved from day one and now it's a hair's breadth from being finished and when it comes out we will all get into a big van and tour. We will tour the slopes of Britain. I am really looking forward to touring. I have had great fun at the shows we have done. It is an incredible undertaking just in that it is a huge production with hundreds of people involved and rabid fans. It is a load of fun. It's kind of nuts but it is a lot of fun. I honestly really haven't even heard one of the Velvet Revolver songs yet, though. I met Duff a couple of months ago and he is a really sweet guy, but I haven't listened to the album at all." Title: Re: Tommy Interview Post by: JustUsOwls on July 28, 2004, 11:36:03 PM I'm willing to bet he's heard Velvet Revolver.
Title: Re: Tommy Interview Post by: vicarious existence on July 28, 2004, 11:43:20 PM I'm willing to bet he's heard Velvet Revolver. Same here... unless he's been living under one hell of a rock the last few months. Title: Re: Tommy Interview Post by: RnT on July 28, 2004, 11:48:49 PM Did Slash said that he he never heard Axl?s new songs? or was Matt ?
Title: Re: Tommy Interview Post by: younggunner on July 28, 2004, 11:58:04 PM Quote I'm willing to bet he's heard Velvet Revolver. Im sure theres a chance he has heard SLither. But Tommy has probably been busy these past few months with his solo stuff. Plus he has said in the past he doesnt really listen to the radio that often. Hes into all that underground stuff.....What is interesting is that he and duff have met. Title: Re: Tommy Interview Post by: Will on July 29, 2004, 12:02:40 AM Kinda weird though...I wonder what they said to each other...
Title: Re: Tommy Interview Post by: vicarious existence on July 29, 2004, 12:27:08 AM Kinda weird though...I wonder what they said to each other... Tommy: Hey man Duff: Hey.. Tommy: I play bass for GNR. Duff: Cool, I used to play bass for GNR. Tommy: Cool. Duff: ...... Tommy: ........ Duff: k, see ya. Tommy: ...yep. Title: Re: Tommy Interview Post by: Doc Emmett Brown on July 29, 2004, 01:11:33 AM Kinda weird though...I wonder what they said to each other... Tommy: Hey man Duff: Hey.. I guess they talked about Tommy's old band The Replacements, playing bass and such. And then possibly maybe a short discussion about how the 'perfect' album is coming along. :D Title: Re: Tommy Interview Post by: Jizzo on July 29, 2004, 01:13:47 AM I'm sure they had something in common, and duff is really easy to talk to.
Title: Re: Tommy Interview Post by: mega_music on July 29, 2004, 01:20:32 AM Its cool to see Tommy getting some spotlight time. I think he's very talented and his new album is very good.
Title: Re: Tommy Interview Post by: Dave_Rose on July 29, 2004, 08:23:11 AM Yeah Tommy is very talented but hes gotta understand that people are getting annoyed waiting for the new album lol

Title: Re: Tommy Interview Post by: gabble on July 29, 2004, 11:44:45 AM Guns N' Roses' Tommy Stinson on the things that make his blood boil...
People Asking Me Why I Called My Album Village Gorilla Head "It comes from the song on the album called Village Gorilla Head which was three parts of music that I was trying to sew together to make a song out of. When I first started writing, for lack of anything else to call it, one part of it reminded me of Motorhead and one part reminded me of The Village People. As I sewed it together it seemed a good idea to call it Village Gorilla Head. Some people might find it interesting, but I don't. After trying to come up with serious titles and funny titles, my manager came up with the idea that I call it that. I thought about it for about half an hour and decided to go with it." The LA Lakers' Higher Management "The Lakers are the only sports team that I pay any attention to and although it is only the last six years that I have been a basketball fan, I have got pretty rabid about it. The upper management have replaced Shaquille O'Neill with Kobe Byrant... who may be in fucking jail by the fall! There is definitely at least a 30 per cent chance that he will go to jail, and they have hedged all their bets that he will stay free and they can base their team around him. It's sure going to be a boring season to be a Lakers fan next year." Leaf Blowers "Every building on my street has a gardening service and they have these leaf-blower things that are excruciatingly loud and every day of the week at some point in the day I've got an hour where they are making all this noise. I really can't think of anything else. Overall this is the best my life has been in a while, to some it might not be much of a life, but to me it is great right now." Tattoos "Except Axl's, his ink all has meaning to it. You have to remember that in LA, especially Hollywood, every man or everyone who has picked up a guitar has stopped off to get a tattoo first. My friend calls them 'the Everlasting Job Stopper'. I have never been tempted, I like the fact that I have virgin skin. I don't understand why people all get the same tattoo; why would you want to be one of nine million people with the same tattoo? It's tolerable if there's no flames, no eightballs, no dice." The Replacements Reunion "I get asked about this every fucking day! It's not that I want to be an asshole about it but a lot of people ask me about it at the moment, it seems like a hot topic. I don't think that the Pixies getting back together changed anything - we're totally different cases. I like that Charles just came out and did it... he's pretty casual like that. But now people think that things are happening that just aren't!" Hayfever "I drove through Minneapolis coming back to LA from the Bahamas and it was terrible. Los Angeles is so dry and it has this really high pollen count. I guess it's not a problem you have in London. What's the worst thing there right now? Is it mould spores with all that rain? Seriously, I was kidding. I like the UK really." Hoobastank "Jesus. God. It's just appalling music. I suppose I am a little bit jaded, but I can't listen to it. It bums me out that the listening public's standards got so low. Instead of selling great authors, they're selling The Enquirer by the truckload. I'm sure this will come back to bit me on the ass." Being Asked About "Musical Influences" "My influences are so wide ranging and there are so many of them that once I said that my biggest influences were London Calling by The Clash and Foreigners Greatest Hits. London Calling was true, it is still the biggest influence on me as an artist, but Foreigner?" Chinese Democracy Rumours "People just keep asking me. It has evolved from day one and now it is a hair's breadth from being finished and when it comes out we will all get into a big van and tour. We will tour the slopes of Britain. I am really looking forward to touring. I have had great fun at shows we have done.
