Title: Cold Hearted demo=Cold Hard Cash demo?
Post by: AxlRocks on August 03, 2004, 11:36:24 AM
 Cold Hearted is really Cold Hard Cash. Surge from gnr info.tk just made a suggestion that it was really cold hard cash and I think it is really cold hard cash. Although I want to see if other people agree. So what do you think are they the same or are they different?

Cold Hard Cash was a song by Hollywood Rose (mentioned on setlists) , but I don't think there's any recording of it in circulation ....

I disagree with those that say no recording of it exists. Remember those 7 or 8 demos that leaked out? I'm with whoever it was that said its really "Cold Hard Cash"..it'd make sense. Too bad the quality's not good enough to make out the lyrics in full.

It's called Cold Hard Cash. According to Rick Marrs, who was a bass player in the band Rose - and is on the flyer on the back of the Hollywood Rose cd. I got a copy of the 8 track demo from him directly.

The song "Cold Hearted" has bad Quality so that is possibly why the song title is mistaken, so it most likely Cold Hard Cash and that there was never a demo called Cold Hearted. : ok: If you really listen the chous and the lyrics themselves it sonds like the name should be CHC.

Surge and I think the lyrics should go something like this:

1,2,3,4

Out for the money, after the break(?).
Look out boys, she's hard to date.
One teenage girl, just want's to be free.
Ooh, she stopped (stole) the pain and fury (with me??).
Girl's got me cos she's so ???
Stepped into the bank, ?????

Cold hard cash, cold hard cash,
So much cold hard cash.
She just speaks that cold hard cash.

I know holidays are givin' it up.
Just a finger ????????????? top
For a smile and a kiss she try to give it away
Everybody's gotta give something away

Papa gonna bring police, fuss and strain,
Gonna tell's dreams, future games

Cold hard cash, cold hard cash,
So much cold hard cash.
She just speaks that cold hard cash

Papa's gonna bring two more toys
Spank the ???? for loverboys.

Cold hard cash, cold hard cash,
So much cold hard cash
She just speaks that cold hard cash
Cold hard cash,
Cold hard cash,
So much cold hard cash
She just speaks that cold hard cash

Date me for cash!

(**I don't do drugs but it seriously sounds like Axl
says "Harry
potter")

Demos from the pre-Guns N' Roses band 'Rose'.
These tracks were recorded in 1984. This band consists of:
Axl Rose (vocals)
Izzy Stradlin' (guitar)
Chris Weber (guitar)
Johnny Kreis (drums)
Rick Marrs (bass)
I got this CD from Rick Marrs, who directly transferred it from him original tape of these demos.
Sound Quality: A
1 CDR (3rd gen.)

1. Shadow of Your Love (2:47)
2. My Way Your Way (4:56)
3. Reckless Life (4:37)
4. Rocker (3:30)
5. Killing Time (3:23)
6. Killing Time (Slowed) (1:11)
7. Out Of Control (Unfinished - Just Guitars & Vocals) (5:33)
8. Cold Hard Cash (Unfinished - Just Guitars & Vocals) (4:18)

There's also this bootleg from a nice little company called Aces High  :hihi: with these songs, called 'Hairspray Heroes -Hell Revisited Pt. 2', although that's not a 1st gen recording.

Hello,
What about Your Looks are Gone?  I dl'd this awhile back, and it has a nice beat.  The only problem is the sound quality is terrible, and I mean terrible!  Cool song though.  Is it legit?

yeah... not sure whether it's truely 'not-fake' though, and can't remember the exact story behind the fact it got on the Internet a while ago.
Also, did you guys see the video parts of (Hollywood) Rose played during VH1's GNR: Behind the Music?

Yea, they' re pretty cool. Dude you should upload those unfinished songs to the internet! Maybe you could have them put on 14yearsofsilence.com. 6,7, and 8 would be cool! :) I never heard of Out Of Control.

Even though there unfinished it woul be cool too have them.
