Nov. 24, 3491. That's when Chinese Democracy starts, baby! At least, that's when China's colony in the distant galaxy of KVI-491 will become democratic. The album, unfortunately, will be suffering from minor, short-term delays due to various legal snaffus, but the fanbase will be enthusiastic that latest uber-musician to join G n' R, Pax, a master of the trinklebasshorn, mentioned in an interview about his solo work that the album just had a few things to be ironed out and would be along "soon." Axl, meanwhile, kept alive and allegedly youthful with an unholy mix of botox, multivitamins and a strict adherence to the principals of judo, hasn't made a confirmed public appearence in 1488 years, but is rumored to be visiting China and Brazil in search of inspiration for future songs as well as possible sites for videos.

That's my prediction. Here's hoping one of you is right, though.

The Chinese Democracy ad will hit Thursday night during a  WWE Smackdown! break and Informer 4.0 will read the announcement live on the air;  then Banny will lead a panel discussion LIVE on UPN.
Axl will be appearing on 30-Minute Meals with Rachael Ray and on Extreme Makeover: Home Edition next Sunday...he'll hype the album and they'll remodel Steven Adler's house...
I'll be camping out at Best Buy next Monday night, biatch!

It would be really stupid of the band to change the name at this moment. The hype has gone through the roof and more people seem to know about Chinese Democracy than VR.

When you have a product that sells without even having released it yet... well, you don't change a winning team...

I'm pretty sure the "Chinese Democracy" title is more solid now than before....Tommy's main pop-up window used to say YES the album will be coming out; over the last few months it changed to YES Chinese Democracy will be coming out.

But who knows?  The band memebers may or may not... :confused:

I would love to see it be November 2 of this year. (Election Day.)

But, if we do see it in November, I think we'll see it more towards the end of the month, so I'm gonna say either the 23 or 30.

I hope I'm wrong, but if the album was to be released in November, we should have  known by now. There's nothing from GNR or management, just ambigious statements by Tommy and Dizzy. A few months back I thought for sure novemeber was the month ( when VH aired GNR BTM) but I'm not too confident anymore.

No, take VR as an example. We knew way before hand ( at least 4 or 5 months earlier) when the album was gonna be released. As a matter of fact, Slither was released two months before the album was set to come out. The end of september would only leave 45-60 days at the to release a single, start the promotion, shot a vid...there's no way to the get the machine rolling with less than 50 days.

In 45-60 days you can get on the cover of every music magazine in the whole world, you can get a video on MTV and every local music TV station in the world, you can get your single on every radio station in the world.

The name Guns N' Roses doesn't need more than 45-60 days to promote a new album.

With Velvet Revolver it was a whole different thing. It was a new band. The only ones who were aware of the band and the project thing was us, the old GNR and STP fans who surf the internet...

Agreed. Threre doesnt need months of promotion, the album has already gained promotion by not being released all these years. All they need is a strong single on the radio maybe a month before it comes out, a video, and a few tv and radio ads and interviews from Axl and they will be all set.

No, I'm not talking about " The Project". We knew their album was gonna be released when they were already known as VR four orfive months before the original date, which was set on April-May. If I'm not mistaken, in early Januray we had the first release date announcement.

With Guns, one will say they even need more time to get the whole thing going. An album that has been rumored to come out  145,986 times over the past 5 years is much more anticipated than VR's album. Hence, the more time it would be needed to start the promotion,single....

We don't even today, August 15th, under which label will the album come out. We don't even know if GNR has replaced buckethead or if he will still be in the record. No official statement has come out in 4 months....the odds of a November release are quite low.

Trust me, I would love to see the album by November, but I don't see anything that would lead me to that conclussion, other than unfounded rumors and the same old statements from other band members saying the album is very close of being finished.

I'm telling you again. That happened because it was a new band. Like it or not, VR is a new band for the whole world. The fact that we know it doesn't mean that everybody else knew them. That's why they needed all that time to promote their album


The fact that everybody's waiting for that album makes it easier and not harder to promote it. As soon as the news break out, every DJ and VJ in the whole world will be talking about GNR, every music magazine will do an article and probably will want a front cover too. It's already so heavily promoted that it'll only need a month of promotion.


We know that GNR's new record will be under Interscope. We know that Buckethead is out of the band but his parts will probably be in the record. The fact that there's no official statement or that you and me don't know the details doesn't mean that it's difficult to promote the album in 45-60 days.



I'm not saying that it'll come in November. I'm hoping for a November release. I just know that it's really easy to promote an album like Chinese Democracy in 45-60 days. You're not going to vote for a president. It's just an album...

Yeah, but this album seems to be the most hidden secret of humanity. Chinese Democracy will have seen 3 US presidents before it comes out.

I know what you are saying, at then end this is just an album. But when other similar artists release new albums, they have announce dit propertly and with at least 3 months. Ie, Metallica, Radiohead, NIN....

This album is somehow cursed. That's why it's so hard to believe it will come out in November when it is as finished as it was 2 years ago.

Let's not talk about Trent cause he's in the same league with Axl... Not to mention the Finck link... About the rest, I don't care enough to talk for them...
