Here Today... Gone To Hell!

A friend of mine was listing to his XM radio today and while flipping threw the channels he hear that Axl Rose was spotted wearing a black T-shit with big white letters that read ?November  2?. Since he isn?t a GNR fan he didn?t pay much attention to the details. And being that I?m a GNR fan he told me. I asked him if he knew where he was spotted and if he had any more info. He remembered it was in the US but 4got where at. He said they where joking about that date being the presidential election date. And added some funny comments about him supporting the election or his album or something. That?s all the info he remembers.

Anyone else hear this? Or know anything about it? Is Axl a vote freak or is this one of his big plans he?s been waiting for?

Geffen is being a bit stingy with the old advertising budget. They can only stretch to one t-shirt?

Three possible outcomes to this.

#1: The guy who said it is full of shit.

#2: Chinese Democracy is coming out in November, maybe even on the second.

#3: Axl is just fucking with us now.

It's funny, elections and record releases are always on Tuesday. So is November 2nd.

The guy who said it may be full of shit, but those t-shirts actually exist. They are part of http://www.november2.org/home.cfm (http://www.november2.org/home.cfm) a non-profit campaign to get people to register and vote in the upcoming election. Buying a t-shirt is a donation as well as advertisement for the campaign. : ok:

Anything's possible, and it's original, at least. I mean come on, all you ever hear is "so-and-so told me this...", coming up with the idea that he had the date on his shirt deserves the nod for originality. Seems very plausible in the world of Axl, though.

The ONLY way to get CD out of Axl is to employ the likeliness of Peter Parker a.k.a Spiderman.

Spiderman can tangle Axl in a web with one hand and retrieve CD from Axl with the other ;D

I heard the same thing mentioned on XM on 'Da' BoneYard' (Channel #41) - dont know if I heard it at the same time, though.  It was mentioned by the main Boneyard guy.. I never remember his name.  I heard it last night driving to a client's office.. about 10:15 or so Eastern time.

It was really just a quick, quick blurb - with no real exposition before or after.  Who knows what to make of it.

I just think Axl is fucking with us. Don't you think he would want his "baby" of an album to be the center of attention, by dropping it on Nov 2, all the news and TV stations are gonna be covering the election. People will be out and about voting and not have it on their mind. I would think Axl would pick a week where the long awaited CD can get everyone's attention

Who cares? So many supposed "great opertunities" to drop the album have come and gone over the years. Albums drop when they do, and that's it. And you'll hear about it, don't worry.

And just to point out, for the hell of ot, the people who cover the election are there for that. Music has people to cover it's feild.

Yeah but station on cable like MTV and VH1 cover the election all day and almost aorund the clock. THe week or two before the election all tvs will be coverign the two canidates and if it goes like in 2000, the days following could be covering the election.

PS Kurt Loder who is like Axl's biggest supporter at MTV will be covering the election on Nov 2 for MTV. So he does both

They could get good advertising out of releasing it the 2nd. Just think of election tie ins that could be used in ads

The current political climate is such a mess that people who normally wouldn't be very outwardly political are becoming outwardly political.  So IF he was seen wearing such a t-shirt its probably something he believes in and he can fuck with people at the same time(regarding VH1 rumor).  Brilliant really. :peace:

The guys on XM mention Guns all the time - hell, they played 420 GNR & GNR member side projects songs in a row once.. its not like its a big deal.

I didn't think much of what they said because I've learned that - as with all things GNR - expect nothing and you're never disappointed.

Perhaps in the future when I drag myself in the door mentally wrecked and freaking drained from the day, I'll hop right onto HTGTH and post "Wow, the Boneyard mentioned Axl again!" - last night all I wanted to do was collapse into my bed.
