Title: paradise city-rock in rio 3 Post by: bolton on July 17, 2004, 10:39:58 AM kick ass, that was very heavy.
do you see newgnr in that way(heavy metal) Title: Re:paradise city-rock in rio 3 Post by: nesquick on July 17, 2004, 10:44:31 AM Paradise City is a pure Rock n' Roll song, not a "heavy metal" one...
I've never liked the way it was played at Rio 3, it sounds too much brutal, this is not what Guns n' Roses has always been, come on it's not Metallica. I prefer the 2002 versions, they were more close to the original, just a kick ass Rock n' Roll song. I especially the end of the song with amazing guitar solos. Title: Re:paradise city-rock in rio 3 Post by: Dave_Rose on July 17, 2004, 10:46:59 AM I loved Paradise City from RIR III I have that somewhere on my comp it looked like they were having fun but I know some people didn't like on this board me I love it.
Title: Re:paradise city-rock in rio 3 Post by: FragileVision on July 17, 2004, 11:47:55 AM Paradise City at Rio 3 was too cool - I loved the heavy, almost industrial-ish punch that they gave it.
I can understand how some people didn't care for it though - It was a surprisingly heavy version of GNR's arguably most recognized tune. Title: Re:paradise city-rock in rio 3 Post by: killingvector on July 17, 2004, 12:17:31 PM If you don't like the new gnr, you probably won't like PC from Rio III.
I liked it, very much. Title: Re:paradise city-rock in rio 3 Post by: bolton on July 17, 2004, 01:23:42 PM Paradise City is a pure Rock n' Roll song, not a "heavy metal" one... I agree with you about paradise city, but i have ny great rnr performances(from ritz88,rio 1991,paris 1992,tokyo 1992,argentina 1993),and rir3 was something new.Axl's looked very happy in rio 3I've never liked the way it was played at Rio 3, it sounds too much brutal, this is not what Guns n' Roses has always been, come on it's not Metallica. The only thing brutal about Metallica is the fact that they kept making music after "...And Justice For All" but that's a whole other story. I like the new GN'R and enjoyed the entire RIR 3 show. Title: Re:paradise city-rock in rio 3 Post by: Jizzo on July 17, 2004, 06:49:03 PM I hate the rock in rio 3 version, mainly cause they fuck up the wistle at the begining and axl doesnt sing the right part at the right time.
Title: Re:paradise city-rock in rio 3 Post by: egobrain? on July 17, 2004, 07:30:35 PM could someone tell me where I can get this song....I don't have kazzaa or anything so I can't use anything like that but is it on a site somewhere or something?
Title: Re:paradise city-rock in rio 3 Post by: dave-gnfnr2k on July 17, 2004, 10:41:46 PM I have the remasterd version that the rir site had posted.
They fixed it up I think and edited out some of the mistakes. Title: Re:paradise city-rock in rio 3 Post by: AxlsMainMan on July 17, 2004, 10:55:05 PM Sorry, but I gotta say Axl sounds horrible for most of this performance. Just out of breath and completely blew the whistle at the wrong time.

But also drums [not drumming] sounded like shit... Title: Re:paradise city-rock in rio 3 Post by: estranged.1098 on July 18, 2004, 06:38:54 AM Sorry, but I gotta say Axl sounds horrible for most of this performance. Just out of breath and completely blew the whistle at the wrong time. It was perfect for the people who were there. That version (the entire RIR set actually) was just that. It was not a performance to listen to over and over again on mp3s. Yeah you would think he wouldnt mess that up but he did. Axl doesnt even know how to blow. At first i didnt like any of the RIR performance but after watching it a few times it grew on me. I still agree and think it stupid how he messes up blowing. Thank God, that would be a whole new thread altogether. :-\ @#$%Muther Title: Re:paradise city-rock in rio 3 Post by: C0ma on July 19, 2004, 09:43:42 AM I thought that PC was butchered at RIR. Right from the start the guitar intro was terrible, the whistle was in the wrong place, the shredding at the end is just completely out of place, I also hate that they add a synthisized guitar part to the song....did we really need 4 guitars during that song??

Go ot E-bay and look it up, that's where I got my copy. |
