Here Today... Gone To Hell!

Hey people,

Got any lyrics/lines that stand out to you as cheesy ones? If so, post em.
I find the following pretty cheesy, although the songs themselves are really good.

"If love is blind,  I guess I'll buy myself a cane" - this sounds like it belongs on a Winger album.


"Now I see the stars alright. I wanna reach right up and grab one for you" - Hahaha


"Ya treat it like a capital crime. Everybody's doin' their time "

"'Cause it would take a lot more time than you
Have got for masturbation
Even with an iron fist
More than ya got to rule a nation"

Good song, but that part just screams for giggles in my opinion.

"Suck my fuckin dick" comes to mind. A pottymouth fourth grader would say something like that.

The lyrics to "My World".... and also

"I'm gonna kick your ass!" from Get In The Ring... actually most of that song is cheasy.

I've always liked the finale of Rocket Queen, but when you think about it, it is pretty cheesy: "I see you standing / standing on your own / it's such a lonely place for you / for you to be.."

Also, Think About You is really cheesetastic.

I think Silkworms is quite cheesy.

"Listen motherfuckers to this song that should be heard,."

"Pussy for a maggot....."

It reminds a bit of My world.

Def agreed with that one. Think About You is the cheesiest GNR song. Who wrote that? Izzy did?

no not most of their songs, besides its a personal opinion kinda poll

mine are:

by far the cheesiest lyrics (off the top of my head)

perfect crime (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8)

and

double talkin' jive (double talkin' jive get the money motherfucker cause I got no more patience, man)

they are pretty bad too

For fans i see an awful lot of 'criticism' aimed at the band

If u lot really think 'Think about you' is cheesy you clearly have no idea what cheesy music is - do some research then come back.

Thats what I dont understand. I dont think any of there songs are cheesy. You want a cheesy song? Listen to someone like the Spice girls! ;)

cmon man, its only a bit of fun. none of there songs are as cheesy as anything by motley crue but as far as guns songs go "think about you" definately lets off a tangy chedar aroma. thats easily the cheesiest guns song. :hihi:

Izzy, gotta disagree with you on this one. I don't think people are claiming the songs to be bad, just a particular lyric or line that stands out as being a cliche/play on words/humourous, all of which are often classified as cheesy.

I love locomotive and 'think about you', and they aren't performed in a cheesy way, but some lines, when read without the music, bring a smile to my face.

I'm guessing GnR has around 50 songs in their catalogue. A few specific lines from a song doesn't make it a cheesy song, and it doesn't come close to making most of their songs cheesy.

I recently read Q magazine's 1991 review of the UYIs, and they said all UYIs' lyrics were rubbish, except that line. ;D

Well they aren't even the lyrics to Silkworms, so I don't see how trhey can be cheesy.

Don't take it personally mate. This is not intended to critize the band. You may consider taking a deep breath before posting next time.

All of the lyrics to Civil War blow cheesy chunks.  I hate that fucking song.

"What's so civil about war anyway" makes me want to start a war everytime I hear it.

Q magazine can bite my glorious golden behind. UYI has some of the best lyrics ever written imo. If the hack from q magazine could write the following then he could comment. Otherwise I suggest he gets back in his box

No kidding, whoever wrote that article probably only understands that one line, or just didn't actually read the lyrics. That piece from Coma is a lyrical masterpiece...probably the best piece of GnR lyrics.  These types fo cases make me wonder what review journalists are for.

Turns out I didn't remember the review too good.. it said that Civil War and Yesterdays were the only songs without crap lyrics, and that the line from Locomotive was the only joke... read the full review

All of Gn'Rs lyrics are great!  If you want real cheese look at boy band lyrics. : ok:

    It's tough to find a cheesy line in AFD...how about, "Yowza," at the end of Brownstone.  I'm grasping on that album!

    Kinda tough to find cheese on the UYI's also.  "Suck my fuckin' dick" has a 0% cheese content, sorry!  Civil War, Coma, Don't Cry are also cheeseless.  My World isn't cheesey, just weird, and in my opinion terrible.  

    Cheesy would probably be a ballad that falls flat...i.e. So Fine. :)

I find most of the UYI overdub's pretty cheesy. Those extra little 1-2 seconds dubs they have on alot of there songs.
