Guns 'N Roses without Axl Rose on Pukkelpop

In the states they are at the number one spot on billboard with their debute album 'Contraband'... Velvet Revolver, the new rockmoster with three old-Guns 'N Roses-members as the hard core: Slash, Duff McKagan and Matt Sorum. Thursday  august 19 they'll be on Pukkelpop. No worries, Axl Rose wont show his - ahum - skills from 2002 again. The Screamboy of duty is Scott Weiland (ex-STP member). ... (info on some other names on the bill)


In 2002 Axl rose left, with what was supposed to be Guns 'n Roses, the audience waiting in the cold for about an hour at a rained-out pukkelpopedition. Barely 2 years later 3/5 of the band is appearing on the festivalbill again. "But Velvet Revolver is much hotter then GnR at the time" according to organiser Chokri. "If you see the band on MTV now you get the impression that 'something stands there'. It's about the music again in Velvet Revolver. In flandren (dutch part of belgium) they might not be that well known, but I'm convinced that they'll grow trough the summer and pukkelpop will make their break-thru."
