Title: The Wrestling Quiz
Post by: Hammy on June 20, 2004, 01:49:09 PM
OK simple enough you ask a wrestling question and when somebody answers it correctly they follow it up with another question.  A correct answer gets you one point so in a few pages time points can be tallied up to see who's leading, im guessing only 6 or 7 people max will be involved in this (the wrestling family of the board).

Rules [For The Stupid, Stoned & Dumb]

A correct answer results in you gaining one point

You follow your answer with a question for everyone to answer

You cannot answer you're own question

If it turns out you're answer was incorrect then you're question will still stand you will just fail to get any points and the incorrect answer will be up for grabs e.g. you could get 2 points in one.  Say Arron answered D's wrong but did not realise and posed a question then Evolution could answer D's which Arron got wrong and Arron's to gain 2 points

Hope all the rules make sense

Keep the questions easy earlier on e.g. leave the who entered the '92 Royal Rumble at No.21 questions until later

Q1. What current WWE superstar played The Sultan?

Nikolai Volkoff.

Mike Shaw (Bastion Booger)  had an INCREDIBLE run of truly shitty gimmicks.  He played Mr. Booger in the WWF....name one of his 100% grade-A crap gimmicks in WCW/NWA.

Bonus question:  Bastion Booger had a finishing move that he used for his very rare WWF victories...I believe he only used it twice on TV.  What was that finisher called?

I gotta break that habit!!!  It's like my fucking trademark now!

"Who?"  was Jim "The Anvil" Neidhart under a mask (late 90's).  The point was to set up hilarious "Who's on First" type hijinks amongst the announce teams.  Worked about as well as you'd imagine.

More sensible question:   Who did The Ultimate Warrior defeat to win the Intercontinental title?

Oh yeah...to answer my own bonus question, Bastion Booger's rarely seen finisher was called "To the Batcave!"

Okay...here we go.
1st ever Great American Bash:  July 6th, 1985...Charlotte, NC.

Jimmy Valiant defeated Paul Jones (Dog collar match)
Manny Fernandez, Sam Houston, and Buzz Tyler beat Billy Graham, the Barbarian, and Abdullah the Butcher.
Ron Bass and Buddy Landell fought to a draw.
Ole and Arn Anderson beat Buzz Sawyer and Dick Slater.
Ivan Koloff and Krusher Kruschev vs. the Road Warriors ended in a double disqualification.
Magnum TA pinned Kamala.
Ric Flair pinned Nikita Koloff.
Dusty Rhodes beat Tully Blanchard in a cage match.

That's who won.

Okay...here y'go.  In keeping with that theme:

Krusher Kruschev went to the WWF in the late 80's.  He had a couple of gimmicks, one of which was pretty famous (he always thereatened to "kick your stinkin' teeth in!!")  Name one of those gimmicks OR his real name.

Title: Re:The Wrestling Quiz

He was being groomed because of his hard man rep.  He was expected to win the brawl for all and go on into a program with Austin.  Bart Gunn though surprisingly knocked him out which putting him out with a load of injuries and with a damaged reputation therefore his push never happened.

Q. When Hacksaw Jim Duggan had the pleasure of winning the Royal Rumble who did he eliminate last of all?

Okay firstly i don't quite 'get' your question Deacon, anywayz somebody else hopefully will.  As i said at the beginning of this thread you get a point for each correct answer and id add 'em up, McGann/Troy Mclure got a bonus for nearly killing the thread with a question nobody knew so these are the current scores:

Stoned - 8
John Deacon - 7
McGann - 4
Evolution - 4
D - 1
The Dirt - 1
Arron - 1

NEW RULE now to stop people constantly guessing until they are correct, an incorrect answer means you lose a point and yes you can go into minus numbers e.g. Arron you keep answering when stoned  :hihi: and you get a few more wrong you could be on -1 or -2  : ok: this rule is from now on though any previous crap guesses will be completely fuckin' ignored : ok:

Title: Re:The Wrestling Quiz

Back in the 80's the WWF had a king so to speak. The crown changed hands quite a few times as a gimmick. It was a very cheasy gimmick, complete with its own purple crown and cape.

IE

Harley Race presumed himself to be the KING of wrestling, He then lost it to Haku, Haku Lost it to Hacksaw Jim Duggan, Duggan lost it to the macho man.

I think most people will remember the period back in the mid ninenties When they stopped the "King" gimmick with the macho man.

"Ain't I Great" is familiar, but I think what he's looking for might be "With My Baby Tonight".  It was also featured on "WWF Full Metal:  The Album", and the song that Jesse James sang when they called him "The REAL Double J" later on.

Abe "Knuckleball" Schwartz was played by Steve Lombardi.

What was the name of the AWESOME character that Danny Spivey played in 1995 WWF?  He was loosely based on Max Cady from "Cape Fear" and got over pretty big until it became obvious his knees and back were destroyed and he got cut loose...he used to shake his opponent's and the referee's hands, and would then just beat the SNOT out of the other guy.

Nope, not IRS.

The cobra incident was interesting..the snake was fully defanged and had no venom.  It actually bit Savage, but it was completely planned.  There was no real poison there.  His sell of the bite  and subsequent "hallucinations" was unbelievably good...kids literally crying and freaking out in the audience, etc.

Jake was such a good heel.

WHo is Ron Bass

You're right. I thought that would be a little tougher.

Go ahead
I remember the first summerslam. I loved the Barber in the 80's I always wanted to see him win some GOLD, he deserved the title that night more then the Warrior

Nope...Mike's dead, too.  Kevin's the only survivor of that bunch...the other three brothers killed themselves.
That was kind of a dickhead question for me to ask, since Chris shot himslef before he started a wrestling career and Mike killed himself before he really made it big.  I'll declare it void...your "4 Horsemen" question is a good one, so somebody should answer that one.

Sorry...

"After she made her debut on Sunday Night Heat she later introduced Prince Albert and fellow Canadian, Test, as a team. She took that team into Wrestlemania 2000 on April 2, and the fireworks began!"

I know she later on managed Val Venis, for a short period, and Was Vince's mistress for awhile and APA join her T&A. I didnt think she managed anyone before Test and Albert

Yeah Trish debuted on Heat and popped out during a Test matchand also later in the night during a Prince Albert match and gave them both suggestive glances

The next night on Raw Is War she and the newly named Albert saved Test from a beatdown and she pronounced the T and A

She started managing Val Venis in mid June 2000 following his heel turn and led him to IC gold.

They parted ways after Summerslam 2000 because Chyna pinned Trish in a tag match and cost Val his belt. Soon after Val joined RTC

She continued to manage T and A until they split in December 2000 and she sided with Albert for a few weeks until joining Vince in Late 2000

i dont think any questions are unanswered so ill pose one

In early-90's WWF,  a returning WWF superstar (he'd been out with a serious injury) made a short-lived return under a mask as "Furface" or "The Mariner."  He'd come out and assault heels post-match.  The gimmick was dropped when it became obvious that his injury wasn't fully healed, and he came back later under his usual name.
Who was that masked man?

I've been answering a lot of these, so I'll pose a question and step back awhile so other people can play. :-X

"Moppy".  That's a great way to get splinters in sensitive places, I imagine.

This independent bruiser was originally slated to play a character called "Kilo", a drug dealer in the WWF.  He wore all white.  Kilo only appeared on TV once or twice before getting fired for blowing too many spots at house shows.   He showed up in ECW and he was actually blackballed there for being TOO DANGEROUS.  Yes, that's right, he was too sloppy and dangerous for EC fucking W.
He showed up in XPW more recently.

Yep, all matches single, tag team, handicap, battle royal etc. they are all included so as a hint those included in the Battle Royals won by Andre The Giant & Bad News Brown have all lost.  Like i said they have to of won as well not just be undefeated e.g. Bad News Brown won a battle royal but fought to a draw with Roddy Piper so he does not count : ok:

Earthquake (John Tenta).

A former member of the St. Louis Blues, known for beating the crap out of other hockey players and one time almost murdering Kelly Buchberger at center ice after Buchberger knocked Wayne Gretzky out of a game, was days away from signing a contract with the WWF for years, and it seemed he was finally ready to give up hockey for good and become a full-time wrestler. Then he got in a motorcycle accident and his wrestling career was derailed, probably permanently. Name him.

Just before Adrian Adonis became "Adorable", he was still wearing his leather jacket but carrying a mysterious briefcase that was never really explained.  He often had the briefcase handcuffed to him.  What was printed on the side of the briefcase?

I remember reading that Vince Russo pitched the back-up idea of Tom Green(the MTV shock-comedy guy) to McMahon but he had'nt heard of him so that was dropped

A shame that it disappeared as it was a handy way of explaining storylines on the fly.

Any one remember it's 2003 rip off "F-View"? :hihi:

Don't worry Evolution i realise you last answered a question and if correct you can ask one after what i have planned just to spice up the game and also give it a break from people posting

1. Which Johnny In WCW could never B Good?
2. Which wrestler was simply Just Incredible?
3. 'I Know You Want Me' was a line in who's WWF Theme song?
4. Who did Undertaker fight on RAW the night after Wrestlemania 12?
5. Page Joseph Falkinburg which Wrestlemania did this guy first appear at and what wrestler did he go on to become? [The clue is in the name]
6. Back in 1997 on RAW which young star did Rob Van Dam face and what famous name was given to RVD by Jerry Lawler which stuck for a number of years?
7. The Tag Team Title tournament The 1-2-3 Kid and Bob 'Spark Plugg' Holly was originally scheduled to have The Smoking Gunns in, from a storyline point of view what reason was given for their absence - I want to know how they were supposedly injured
8. During Wrestlemania 10 a match was cancelled, on air they said it was because certain members of one of the teams involved in the match were arguing but what was the match and who was involved?
9. Which injured wrestler did Jake 'The Snake' Roberts replace at The 1996 Survivor Series
10. Why was Duke 'The Dumpster' Drosse the No.30 entry in The Royal Rumble? [As in who did he beat to earn the place]

DO NOT post your answers to the following questions here PM them to me.  If you get 100% you get 10 points, unless there are several who get 100% and then the points will be divided.  Anyone who sends me their answers and fails to get them all right will lose a point and just so i get something out of this for everyone who loses a point i gain one so if only 2 of you bother to answer this and you both get 100% i get nothing and you would get 5 points each i hope you all understand and if you do you will realise why answers need to be PM'd to me and not posted any questions about the rules can also be PM'd to me.  This little thing finishes Sunday night at 11.59pm UK time for anyone who is not in the UK and needs to work it out it is currently 3.14pm here so it gives you 32 Hours and 45 Minutes.  After this is over the normal quiz will resume from where it left off : ok:

Edit: If nobody gets 100% ive decided the one with the most correct will get the equivelent amount of points like i said though don't bother answering if you know jack shit cos for the ones who fail to win they lose a point and i gain one so if 10 enter and only one wins i get 9 points ;D

Edit #2: I've noticed most of the wrestling squad has been away this weekend and i feel it would be unfair to end this 2nite at 11:59pm as originally planned so im gonna extended it 'til tuesday at the same time so until then the regular part of the quiz is on hiatus remember 10 points are on the line here

Edit #3:And the winner is McGann so the normal game can continue it's Evolution's turn ill post latest scores and details of the quiz tomorrow

P.S. It means McGann gets 10 points and all who entered but did not win lose one and for every one lost i gain one any complaints ask me or read the damn rules again : ok: Only 3 entered so it means 2 for me 10 for McGann and -1 for Deacon and Evolution.....full details tomorrow

Question one ask for a Johnny now i know who you meant but you should of read the question.  Question 7 asks how the injury came about not what it was, it was a rodeo accident.  Lastly ive realised McGann got a detail about the eight man tag at Wrestlemania 10 [ Bob Holly not Marty Jannety dude] wrong so he gets 9 points instead he beat you by one point : ok:

You must think you are god or something, just because you can't be a mod. You make up the stupidist fucking rules. Marc Mero is Johnny B. Goode.  I've seen him in person wrestle as Johnny B. Goode you should of specified you EXACTLY what you wanted.

"I want to know how they were supposedly injured" HOW THEY WERE INJURED could be viewed as one of two ways. 1) WHat accident happened to them. or 2) What kind of damage was done to them.

Johnny being his charecter and Marc being his name. This is so fucking stupid. I just know what i read and according to the man himself at his official website he says this in his list of accomplishments:
Tatanka's accomplishment's are: he hold's of course the longest winning streak of the W.W.F. which is 2 years without one defeat; longer than Goldberg's feat of only 9 months. Voted in 1993 by Pro Wrestling Illustrated as runner up for Most Improved Wrestler of the Year. Voted Limit Magazine-Hero 1994 in Sports in Germany; one contender that year was Michael Jordan. Voted Top 10 in both Most Popular and Most Hated Wrestlers. Also in 1994 Tatanka was part of the stars of the W.W.F. that released the first and new C.D. and tape on RCA records appropriately titled, "Wrestlemania, the album." The album was unveiled to the public at a posh party in Madison Square Garden. In attendance were Tatanka, Hacksaw Jim Dugan, the Macho Man and even W.W.F. head honcho, Vince McMahon. Tatanka's song was titled "Tatanka Native America." He also defeated Shawn Michaels twice when he was holding the Intercontinental Championship.

"Wild Side", with X-Pac providing some pretty awful backing vocals.

The Dudleys were quite the ECW force, and proved to have a pretty extensive family.  Which one of the following Dudleys did I just make up?  In other words, which one of the following never appeared or was mentioned in ECW in any capacity?

D-Von Dudley, Buh Buh Ray Dudley, "Big" Dick Dudley, Dudley Dudley, Sign Guy Dudley, "Hong Kong" Dudley, Little Snot Dudley, Dances With Dudley, Spike Dudley

Edit:
I found this by putting "Motley Crue WWF Wild Side" into Google...
On Sunday Night Heat airing October 25th look for Motley Crue to deliver the first live performance of "Bitter Pill," one of two new tracks and the first single off the upcoming release. Most added at active rock radio last week, it is one of two new tracks on the album which were produced by "Dr Feelgood" producer Bob Rock.

During Raw Is War on October 26th the Crue will perform "Wild Side" from Girls, Girls, Girls with special guest vocalist DX's own Road Dog plus clips of the "Bitter Pill" performance will be shown.

OK little off topic for a second....
First time I seen them it was way prior to the TNN taping. I seen them in Grand Rapids Michigan. That's where the picture is from. I was front row in the corner. It was alright because The fights took place all over the building, I remember following the One Man Gang around and I must of gotten in his way because he pushed me aside to get a convienetly placed garbage can. I got a picture of him from a foot away coming at me. I'll find it and scan it.? There really wasnt that much blood though. All the early ECW stars were there.(Tazz, Sandman, Dreamer, Dudleys, Balls Mahooney, ect)

The second time was a TNN taping at the same arena, by this time ECW was on the downfall and the talent seemed not to be there.

Ok John Deacon/It's So Easy/Stoned Dirt or whatever you are calling yourself now if im not mistaken you 'retired' from the quiz a few pages back so are you try set a new record for shortest retirement i mean this is lame by WWE standards now if you wanna continue playing the game just say im not fussed if you are then you were first answering the question and you get the point if not and you don't wanna play then why the fuck stick your nose in and try and mess things up and another thing no more multi point questions or ones in your favour from now all questions are worth one point since things seem to need cleaning up round here.  So the current question posed by The Dirt is:

Big John Studd died on March 20, 1995. In 1993 he wrestled in his last match. Who did he face? [for one point]

Ric Flair and WCW settled out-of-court for belt ownership in 1992...WCW paid a rumored $28,000 for the belt's return.

Good question!!!

Okay..here we go!

There was a pretty crappy angle that WCW ran in the late '90s...Roddy Piper held tryouts for his tag partners at Uncensored '97 (to be Team Piper vs Team NWO), reportedly because he wanted his chauffeur to be on his team.? Piper stood in the ring on Nitro and various jobbers/unknowns came into the ring one at a time and faced him...he chose the three guys that impressed him.? The angle really sucked and Team Piper was restocked before the PPV to be Piper, Benoit, McMichael, and Jarrett.? One of the unknowns inpressed management and he became a member of the main WCW roster shortly thereafter.? Who was this man?

Edit:  It was NOT John "Earthquake" Tenta, who was presented as some guy they'd never seen before during the angle after a 3 year run with company

If Foley was only looking out for himself (Like Ric Flair claims) Then what does that make Flair, he in early WCW days wnated everythign his way and in his first WWF stint he wanted things his way and wouldnt job to Bret when told so. Then back to WCW having things his way again. He has done the same exact match in all the leagues and if anyone should talk about only looking out for themselfs Flair should be ontop that list.

Note: Dirt's now in charge 'til Christmas any problems, queries, arguments PM him.  And since he gave himself a point 'cos nobody could get his question just to make it a proper rule from now if a question has not been answered within' 3 days of it being posted the guy asking the question gets 1 point, this way asking a hard question has it's advantages and the flow of the game keeps going.  Also the person posing the question [if unanswered] will get the opportunity to ask another like Dirt did.  Other rules are still the same, a correct answer 1 point, an incorrect answer -1.  So Dirt will enforce these rules and update the scores.
