Title: Velvet Revolver's Austin show at Stubb's has been cancelled.
Post by: halfday on June 17, 2004, 01:02:01 AM
This is the first time I've posted and I'm sure no one will beleive me, but I know for a fact that the show at Stubb's is cancelled. Scott Weiland has a throat infection. I was going to fly in for the show have a VIP pass and possibly meet the bad. My buddy, who I have known for 18 years, and works at Stubb's informed me at 9:30 central that VR's manager called the venue and said the show was off. I cancelled my flight and am not going now. What a bummer. I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but it is 100% true. Respond to this if you have tickets to this show or Houston or........ (who knows?) We'll cry in our beers together. :'(

VELVET REVOLVER have been forced to postpone tonight's show in Austin, Texas after lead singer Scott Weiland was advised by his doctor to give his voice 24 hours rest, according to ZRock.com.

Scott reportedly developed a secondary infection as a result of taking antibiotics for bronchitis while he continued to sing. "Because he continued to perform, Scott has developed inflammation of the vocal chords," stated ear, nose and throat specialist Dr. Joe Sugerman. "To avoid damage, he needs 24 hours of voice rest. He'll be re-evaluated tomorrow."

VELVET REVOLVER were due to perform at Stubb's in Austin, Texas. A possible make-up date may take place in October, according to a posting on the Stubb's web site.

--Steven Tyler and Scott Weiland go down in the same week. Bummer.  :'(

So again, the show has not yet been cancelled.  It has been postponed.
