On the momment, people were very exiting and The band sounded GREAT. ok Axl sounded bad but I don't think people really cared of his voice on the moment, "he" was just here and it made it. His stage presence made people forget about his voice. I repeat it, on the momment, it was awesome. The best moment of the VMA 2002.
the next day there was a poll on MTV.COM something like "what was the best momment of the VMA2002?" 1) Axl Rose and Guns n' Roses come-back: 42 or 44% 2) Eminem...16 or18% 3) the rest, 3 or 4% each (shakira, puff daddy etc...) Although........ Axl had some sort of wierd vocal delay effect on his mic throughout Jungle. Nevertheless the scream still sounded pretty damn good, shame about him loosing his breath during the last chorus though, shouldnt move around as much! Not as good as the 1988 VMA version, the screach in that sounds so raw!!! I have to agree with the Madagascar comment, that song sounds absolutly amazing, i just hope the studio version is as powerful as that. If they ever make a video for it, they should just recreate that whole performance. Its brilliant! Anyone else notice the people randomly swearing at Axl (in the pit, during Jungle and Madagascar). Axl's voice is odd.. its like it hit its peak around AFD/Ritz time.. then started breaking up from then.. over the UYI tour.. to what it is now.. 8 years was to much of a break :hihi: But i agree, Axl's scream was fucking unreal. IMO i think Axl is pretty fuckin' nervous at this show n' explanes his voice for the most of it. The part after Axl said "hoooooooooooome" "hooooooooooooooooooome" he said "yeeeeeah!!" and it sounded so great. Then, after the chorus line again he said "look out!!" and it sounded just like he used to. I rewind those two parts over and over again sometimes (well, quite often actually).
