Wow... I wish I could remember!  My sister was a die-hard Gn'R fan back in the day (early 90s) and she listend to Guns n' Roses all the time... I even remember her excitement leading up to their 1991 Use Your Illusion releases.

Sure, I knew what November Rain, Sweet Child O' Mine was, but I was never particularly a fan of the band until I saw them live in concert in 2002.  I was completely blown away during the first moments of the concert.  However, I can honestly remember the exact moment I became a fan for life.

It was during Knockin on Heaven's Door... when we snuck up to first row and watched that song up close and personal... in complete and utter rock n roll bliss, with Axl singing, a few feet above us and the pryos exploding so close that we could feel the heat...  until security escorted us back to our proper seats.  

Oh the memories!

KOHD (the Live at the Freddie Tribute video) when I was about 11 on Video Hits.. 10 mins later November Rain was on (as it was also in the charts higher up).. loved it.. week later got a tape of AFD and couldnt stop listening to it!

Sweet Child O' Mine - My mate used to love that song and he sent it to me one day, I didn't really think that much of it until I saw the video on Kerrang last september I think, and it was then I realised I liked the song, and when I finally got round to downloading a few more songs I realised I really liked them. Then dad gave me AFD and my life totally changed  :yes:

have no idea... but the first song i remeber was Get In The Ring, cuz me and a buddy of mine used to "sing" that song and rant imagining we stood before audience and stuff like that...   : ok: :peace: :beer:

I remember very clearly!

I was 10 years old (long ago in a galaxy far away), and my older cousin showed me the cassette for AFD.  I remember being shocked by the picture of the girl with her underwear around her knees and that robo-skeleton.

And then I heard the opening chords of WTTJ and Axl's unforgettable voice. And my cousin was talking about how bad-ass this band is, and how they do drugs and stuff.

As a 10 year old, it was too much to handle, and I had no clue what the lyrics meant...it's funny to think about it now.

 I guess i was about 13/14 at the time and i was n the phone to my mate Vikki.... watchin Q in the background, n November Rain came on. I didn't pay much attention at first until it got to Slash's solo outside the church...

 I completely abandoned the phone and sat down to watch the nxt 5 mins of bliss that followed!! I was sooooooo blown away. I went bak to the phone n sed "did u hear that?!" n she was like "oh yeh, didn't like it tho".... n i hung up! (bitchy!) Nxt day i went out n bought AFD, lent it to my mate a coupla months later n neva saw it agen!  >:(

 Bak into em now tho..... with all the albums that NEVER leave my house, (unless with me) hehe.... Needless to say she forgave me for hangin up on her, but i didn't forgive her for stealing AFD!  :P

When I was 7 years old or so about 15 years ago I got a birthday present from my brother which was AFD record and some other stuff which I can't remember. So the first GNR song I heard was the first track welcome to the jungle from the album called AFD

the first one I heard was paradise city..and it was at my cousins house when i was like 10.

I saw the middle of the video and was blown away, so I tried to find out what the song was. However, I couldn't, and it wasn't until I became a fully fledged guitarist that someone recommended me the song...spent hours downloading it on a very VERY slow modem and the rest was history.

The first time I knew I heard a gnr song was for ca.10 months ago:
Me and my brother was goin' to buy 5 cd's (because then you got them on "sale").
 But we only had 4 cd's we were interrested in, but then he took use your illusion also ( only because it was free ), and then I heard Dont Cry (alternative lyricks) get in the ring and KOHD, and then I liked them so much, I bought UYi 2 and later appetite... I went almost nuts, the music was so great!!   :D
Now im a BIG fan, and though KOHD,Get in the ring and alt.don't cry, isn't my favorites now, It was these songs that made me interrested in Guns N' Roses! :D
 

I don't remember. It was Sweet Child O' Mine or Nightrain. I recorded these two from the radio I was listening is 1989. Not bad for a 12 years old. I liked them but realized the difference between them and my other favourites, such as Kylie Minogue, Jason Donovan and Phil Collins. It didn't take a long time to choose  ;D

 Well, let's see. It should be Paradise City from the Freddy tribiute, but I remember that I became a big GN'R fan after I saw and heard Knockin' on Heaven's at the same concert. The interesting part is that I liked how Axl was throwing the microphone. I was about 8 years old and I watched the concert live on MTV.

I really don`t remember - i only listened a little to GNR back in the beginning of the 90`s.  But the song that me rediscover the band was KOHD. It isn`t one of my favorite songs, but it was the one ttht turned my on to G n`f`R.

'You Could Be Mine' when i was watching 'Terminator 2: Judgement Day although i did not realise it was GN'R at the time.  First song i heard by them, knowing it was them was 'Sweet Child O' Mine, actually thinking about it my mate played some of 'Welcome To The Jungle' to me back in 1996 although i wasn't paying much attention, im not sure which one actually counts i'll say 'Welcome To The Jungle'

I don't remember because I was almost 5. My cousin played GNR all the time. For some reason I want to say Mr. Brownstone, but I'm not really sure.

November Rain, my buddy used to come to school in the morning with his cd player and listen to gnr, and i was into rap at the time.....ech..anyways he played me the end of November Rain and i thought it was ok...then i listened to the whole thing again on his sound system. we were playing pool and when it got to slash's solo i nearly shat myself and made him pay it over and over for an hour, totally converted in one day, he gave me uyi1 and havent strayed since

WTTJ in MSG 2002... my bro gave me afd for my b-day earlier that year but i was too occupied w/ metallica but when he took me to the msg gig, i was like "metallica who?"

Well, the first gnr song I ever heard was don't cry. I have band with my friends and one of the girls said, "wanna learn how to play this song? it is pretty easy, and it is so kool." so we heard it and i absolutly fell in love witht he song. It was my favorite. I had never heard of gnr before that. I used to like rap, but now im over that phase. I got the greatest hits cd cause my dad said it was the best one. atoumatically i fell in love with the band. Now i have all the cds and i lisen to gnr every day. its amazing what one song can do

My first song believe it or not was " Think about You". I didn't do this on purpose, but my friend who had bought the L.P in ireland played the wrong song for me first. He wanted to play SCOM, but being an L.P, he picked the wrong song.

Anyway, after the performance I was blown away :o and started downloading
songs, and soon discovered that my brother had both UYI and TSI!

Now I got all the cd's and hoping to see a sertain record in not too long.

It was about just over 2 and a half years ago, I was at a party and everyone was watching mtv2 and i walked in at the moment Slash started the SCOM solo, i rmemeber thinking "I need to be that guy" I got all the cd's and delved into the gnr history and half a year after seeing it I took up guitar : ok:

Well, the first time I heard G N'R was back when Live Era came out and they were showing WTTJ with the reporters on the tv and shit, you know... I had to say, I was kinda impressed... but I never learned their name till 2002, anyway my mom is an art teacher and this kid wanted to swap me this g n'r emblem *the one with a gun and a rose, the one that you sow on a jacket or something* for a good grade...... I was like ok, sure but he backed out at the last minute, anyway my sister bred me to be a nirvana fan..... eeuuuuggggggghhh  :o :o, later on I watched some videos and after a while my mom got me Greatist Hits and I been hooked ever fucking since!

ur a new fan like me, cause if u got hooked when da greatest hits cd came out, den ur pretty new to being a fan too. dats when i got hooked. lol. so ya, newbies rock!!  8) lol

Well my friend played the opening riff of Sweet Child O' Mine and I absolutely loved the song from then on.  So I guess that was the first GN'R song I heard

the first song i heard from guns n' roses was you could be mine in t2, buti was like 7, and i was mad about the spice girls so i didn't pay much attention. that was 1997 i think. but then in 2000 my friend borrowed my an mp3 cd and it had knovkin' on heaven's door and don't cry on it. i put knockin' on heaven's door on and didn't turn it off for more than a week.
2 weeks after that, my dad bought me the illusion twins and my endless love for guns n' roses begun.
i really looked weird, 10 years old, black nail polish, skull neckleace, guns n' roses t-shirts and blue jeans and black all stars shoes, while all my friends were crazy about britney spears and all the other pop shit.

saw the vid "Patience" when I was around 9 yrs old--thought to myself, "why doesn't he know the words to his own song?" bc he was reading the lyrics off the sheet of paper.  hehe...turns out Axl continued to read his lyrics--i.e. using teleprompters at his concerts  ;)

mine was november rain or welcome to the jungle back about the start of the new year. or was it you could be mine. then i bought AFD and it chnaged me.

September 1987 Welcome to the Jungle after my Dad brought it so i would be 8 coming on 9 first video would be Swwet Child remember that as clear as day with my dad saying the coolest guy was Slash because of the Top Hat he wore.

thank god there are new GN'R fanz here. @ skool, ppl think im a freaky person just cuz i luv GN'R and not these crappy R'N'B, rappin bands and shit like that.
