Title: Axl and a piano solo record. Wouldn't that be great? Post by: Dont Try Me on March 21, 2004, 05:02:08 AM What would you think if Axl released a solo record where he does all kinds of piano songs? Not necessarily ballads but just piano kind of stuff. Blues, Jazz perhaps some Classical pieces. Wouldn't that be awesome? After listening to the intro to November Rain at Pittsburgh 2002 I think it would be very cool to hear him play the piano even more. I can't stop listening to it. It's just great.

Title: Re:Axl and a piano solo record. Wouldn't that be great? Post by: Dave_Rose on March 21, 2004, 07:50:29 AM I'd love to see Axl gotta know anything he does always makes me happy Axl just fucking RULEZ!
Title: Re:Axl and a piano solo record. Wouldn't that be great? Post by: Ignatius on March 21, 2004, 08:32:06 AM Nah... Axl and a guitar solo record would be much appreciated. Hey, we even have the release promo pic on other thread. On topic, It could be interesting. I love the piano version of November Rain ( just piano, no other instruments..) Title: Re:Axl and a piano solo record. Wouldn't that be great? Post by: rocktar81 on March 21, 2004, 08:40:08 AM an Axl piano record would be great at the end of his career. Not now but later yes it would be awesome. A kind of blues/jazz/ballads piano album with accoustic guitar too here and then. It would be very touching.
Title: Re:Axl and a piano solo record. Wouldn't that be great? Post by: DemocracyRose on March 21, 2004, 08:51:09 AM You mean, like Elton John????? ??? :nervous:
Title: Re:Axl and a piano solo record. Wouldn't that be great? Post by: Dont Try Me on March 21, 2004, 08:58:22 AM You mean, like Elton John????? ??? :nervous: no, there is a big difference between Elton John and Axl anyways. Voice is very different and playing too. Can't compare them. But like rocktar81 said: "A kind of blues/jazz/ballads piano album with accoustic guitar too here and then. Post by: Axl4Prez2004 on March 21, 2004, 08:58:33 AM I agree with Rocktar about the timing of an acoustic release.
Yes, Axl should save that for his later years that he'll either be spending in a)a loony bin, b)alone locked away in a Vegas motel like Howard Hughes, c)a hospital due to lung or throat cancer, or d) (which I hope is true) after retiring at the top of his game, finally garnering the respect he is due as the greatest fuckin' rocker of all time! Could that little piano solo before "The Asshole Song," from last tour be a part of a new piano song??? It is short, but BEAUTIFUL...hopefully part of the beauty that is soon to come with Chinese Democracy. Title: Re:Axl and a piano solo record. Wouldn't that be great? Post by: matt88 on March 21, 2004, 09:12:11 AM That'd rock. But the timing of a release like this would have to be anytime after Chinese Democracy

Post by: Andrew on March 21, 2004, 09:38:18 AM That'd rock. But the timing of a release like this would have to be anytime after Chinese Democracy Couldnt be more right.... It goes without saying, Axl would have to write and record it first, and we all know how long that may take. But its a nice idea. Title: Re:Axl and a piano solo record. Wouldn't that be great? Post by: Izzy on March 21, 2004, 09:48:59 AM At this moment i will tkae what ever i could get, hell even a covers album again..... :nervous:
Title: Re:Axl and a piano solo record. Wouldn't that be great? Post by: BucketRose on March 21, 2004, 09:55:32 AM Well...Axl would probably have problems and setbacks with the piano keys....the piano wire....the piano acoustics...and various lawsuits with the piano manufacturer. He'd probably fire various parts of the piano...and some parts of the piano would get fed up with his antics and quit functioning. So he'd never be able to release the album...a pity too, cuz I'd love to hear it.

Title: Re:Axl and a piano solo record. Wouldn't that be great? Post by: rocktar81 on March 21, 2004, 10:40:07 AM Quote Piano album? One word: B O R I N G. "it's alright" is a piano song, and even if it's a cover, it's one of the best song on "live erea", it's just WONDERFULL. Boring? no touching? yes, definitely. have you already heard "dust in the wind" too? that's just amazing. an album with 11 or 12 piano songs like that would be one of the greatest piece of art ever. It would be true music, true feeling by a true artist. Title: Re:Axl and a piano solo record. Wouldn't that be great? Post by: Dont Try Me on March 21, 2004, 10:55:39 AM I don't think it would be boring at all. If you choose to play different kinds of styles of music, then I think it could be a very interesting kind of album.
Title: Re:Axl and a piano solo record. Wouldn't that be great? Post by: Pandora on March 21, 2004, 11:22:46 AM I can totally picture him doing a record in the style of Tori Amos. Hell, maybe even a duet with Tori Amos ! : ok:
Title: Re:Axl and a piano solo record. Wouldn't that be great? Post by: Rebecca Duff Rose on March 21, 2004, 11:28:19 AM It would be super cooooooool!
He should release CD, then focus on touring etc. And in between it all- he should work on a solo project! Slash told him to do this- it would clear his head etc. It would be great to hear what Axl's all about! His thoughts and feelings! Title: Re:Axl and a piano solo record. Wouldn't that be great? Post by: Falcon on March 21, 2004, 11:44:54 AM No thanks.
I see no reason for the pussification of all things Axl Rose/GNR. What's next? A duet with Billy Joel? E-gads. Title: Re:Axl and a piano solo record. Wouldn't that be great? E-gads. um no haha, not a duet with billy joel, ofcourse not, not pussification either. It has nothing to do with that. It has to do with creating some original/ interesting music besides what Axl could do in Gn'R. I'd like to hear him play the piano more coz it rocks, that's all. :) Title: Re:Axl and a piano solo record. Wouldn't that be great? Post by: jarmo on March 21, 2004, 11:57:31 AM I really enjoyed the acoustic bonus cd (Still) that came with the NIN live album.
It'd be interesting if Axl did something similar in the future. /jarmo Title: Re:Axl and a piano solo record. Wouldn't that be great? Post by: Reinaldo on March 21, 2004, 12:03:33 PM WOW! That would be really cool!!
I Imagine an entire album with the same style of "It?s alright" on Live Era. Would be different, but very cool. For those who say the new GNR is Axl?s solo career, I?d say this voice and piano utopia would be. Title: Re:Axl and a piano solo record. Wouldn't that be great? Post by: Mikkamakka on March 21, 2004, 12:07:37 PM I can totally picture him doing a record in the style of Tori Amos. Hell, maybe even a duet with Tori Amos ! : ok: Yeees! It would be perfect for me, if my two all time favourite singers team for a song... maybe for an album... But as I remember, years ago Tori spoke about this idea, but never happened. Piano Communism or somthing? :P Title: Re:Axl and a piano solo record. Wouldn't that be great? Post by: grog mug on March 21, 2004, 08:07:10 PM Yes that'd be great. He's always sounded good with the piano. I'd almost take anything right now, but more importantly CD.

Wouldn't that be great? Post by: kockstar99 on March 22, 2004, 06:38:07 AM I would love to hear this type of an albume... Show the mans versitilty... I think its a great idea... Id like to see him sue Geffen and take all the Master Recordings and rerelease them on his own Record label (W.A.R Records) or something like that...sign some bands he supports and enjoys.... Motley Cure did it.. They got all thier Master Recordings from Elektra... Axl could do it too...
he could make a record label release solo albums release guns n roses albums use his name to boost some bands he enjoys.. |
