Just wanted to know if the word "cunt" has been edited out of your guys versions of "aint it fun" on the greatest hits album. Its has been edited out on mine,purchased in Australia "aint it fun when u tell her she's just a ****"

This edited version isn't new.  It's the radio version that was released as the single in 1993.

no, none of the songs, they all sound the same as on the albums they come from

Because mastering/re-mastering isn't a big deal.  If you listen to old Bowie or Led Zep stuff that has been remastered you'll notice a difference.  With GNR, the tracks were recorded to the highest standard so remastering doesn't make to much of a difference.  Things i have noticed on GH are that the drums are bigger, some backing vocals are more pronouced.  It's all very sutle and most people wouldn't notice any difference.  

You will probably have to use good HiFi-equipment to notice the difference.

UYI2.  It would've been cool to have the DOT version, i don't have it on cd.  Nevermind...

Some of the songs sound better and others sound exactly the same.  I'm listening to it on a 6 speaker home theater system though.  I think the cd is worth it if you have a hifi speaker system.  I wish they would remaster all GNR cd's.  Except let Axl and the rest of the original band remaster them this time.

It`s funny, over the past few days every record shop i walk into has a stack of GN`R Greatest hits for sale and they`re playing GN`R non stop. Needless to say, i have not brought a copy for myself. I have those tracks already  :smoking:

What the hell is this?  Guns N' Roses were originally the baddest rock 'n' roll band on Earth.  Now, they're getting the word "cunt" bleeped on their Greatest Hits album?  Why is it even necessary to do this?  This is a band that used to say what it wanted, whether you liked it or not.  That was part of their appeal.  In fact, part of the reason why Axl used words like "nigger" and "faggot" in "One In A Million" was to prove that nobody could tell him what he could or could not say.  And now they're censoring "Ain't It Fun" on GN'R's Greatest Hits.

I mean, Axl isn't to blame - after all, the record is being put out without his permission - but it's still a bummer.

I would have rather the swearing stay and a sticker on the front like the UYI sticker  :beer:

Why is this song on GH anyway?  What a terrible track list, hopefully this 3 album plan will come through and there will be an all new GH cd to buy in the future.

If Geffen felt that strongly about it, why dont they release a clean version and an unedited version of Greatest Hits? :-\

Guys, this edited version of Aint it fun isn't new and wasn't created for GH.  It's the radio edit version that was it released as a single in 1993, read the GH notes.  Pick up a copy of the original Aint It Fun single and the swears are edited out.

this is the reason i am not going to buy it is because of the edited song.
