Bucket Fortus Tommy Dizzy Chris Brain & then all they need is a singer who could be arsed to turn up to gigs and release material and they would be the ultimate lineup, not just the ultimate GnR lineup. Title: Re:Tha Ultimate GNR Lineup Post by: rocktar81 on March 07, 2004, 01:15:27 PM Axl
Slash Duff Fortus Matt Dizzy additional: Izzy (to help writting some good songs) Title: Re:Tha Ultimate GNR Lineup Post by: Lineker10 on March 07, 2004, 01:27:46 PM Axl

Slash Izzy Tommy Steven Dizzy Title: Re:Tha Ultimate GNR Lineup Post by: Mikkamakka on March 07, 2004, 02:32:36 PM Axl
Slash Izzy Duff Matt It'd be a very creative line-up. In the past years all of them (except of Axl) proved his brilliant creativity, even Matt became a great songwiter. Dizzy is not needed. Gilby can help in songwriting, he is a very talented musician, just listen Cure me or kill me, Monkey Chow, Tijuana jail etc. Title: Re:Tha Ultimate GNR Lineup Post by: Doc Emmett Brown on March 07, 2004, 02:41:43 PM Buckethead (extremely talented, Slash (Excellent feeling, tone, solos, appearance) Buckethead and Slash in the same band? Slash would feed the chickens to his snakes, and Bucket would shave off Slash's curls while he was sleeping at night. Title: Re:Tha Ultimate GNR Lineup Post by: jellyhead on March 07, 2004, 02:42:15 PM Axl Slash Izzy Duff Matt even Matt became a great songwiter. What? ??? I don't think his solo record or the riff from Set Me Free justify greatness. Title: Re:Tha Ultimate GNR Lineup Post by: Timothy on March 07, 2004, 02:52:43 PM axl

Are you crazy? There's no finer line-up for Guns N' Fuckin' Roses than Axl, Izzy, Slash, Steven and Duff. However, they'd probably be dead for the most part if what had happened didn't... The original 5 will always remain the ultimate lineup for me. The new band plays the hell out of the old material, but the original 5 are responsible for the new material. I would judge new GNR material but.......

Slash Duff Gilby Buckethead Richard fortus Matt Dizzy Teddy big-bad- zig- zag greek on the harmonica lol (just for old times sake) Izzy (to co-write as i dont think he would want to tour) The Bhead/Slash clash theory maybe some truth to it now. But i think if they met under different circumstances they would jam well. Title: Re:The Ultimate GNR Lineup Post by: //JK75 on March 08, 2004, 07:47:29 PM Axl Rose

slash duff gilby dizzy matt Title: Re:The Ultimate GNR Lineup Post by: St.heathen on March 09, 2004, 11:15:08 AM Do you guys really think Steven would be a better choice over Matt?
I don't think he could do it justice anymore, looks pretty wrecked, from what i have seen. Maybe he could do the Appetite stuff. But i would want more than that, i would want Coma, Pretty tied up, Right next door to hell... all those beasty greats. Title: Re:The Ultimate GNR Lineup Post by: SLCPUNK on March 09, 2004, 04:51:09 PM The ultimate one to me is the one most likely to see perform now a days. So the current line up is just fine with me.
Title: Re:The Ultimate GNR Lineup Post by: Dizzy on March 09, 2004, 06:17:03 PM Do you guys really think Steven would be a better choice over Matt? Yes. He's been playing the AFD stuff regularly at his Adler's Appetite shows, and everyone who's seen the shows say he still has it. As Izzy said, Steven had the swing that gave those songs their push and pull. Matt's a decent drummer but he was too much of a power player for GNR. GNR rarely ever played "Coma" live. Maybe twice. Most of the UYI songs were written and rehearsed (and some were recorded as demos) while Steven was in the band anyway, so I'm sure he could handle them. Matt must be given credit for the intro to "You Could Be Mine", that is a technically sound masterpiece of drumming, but the remainder of the song is repetitive and could easily be emulated by any competent drummer. I think Steven could learn the way Matt played the UYI songs and pull them off just fine. Just because we haven't heard him play many of them live doesn't mean he is not capable. |
