Title: Re:do u like Buckethead?? Post by: rocktar81 on March 01, 2004, 07:19:15 PM - amazing guitar player
- one of the best of all time -but doesn't fit with Guns n' Roses, doesn't fit with Rock n' Roll spirit, feeling, attitude and look.Maybe in studio he would be good? but on stage he is not "Rock n' Roll" and is very static without feeling. not a showman but would be good for studio recording. Title: Re:do u like Buckethead?? Post by: rocktar81 on March 01, 2004, 07:42:51 PM Buckethead is a very good guitarist, a rel genius BUT he is not "Rock n' Roll" do you know what I mean? beeing "rock n' roll" when you are in a Rock band seems pretty normal don't you think? that's the most important thing with the music. if you don't have any feeling, just stay at home and don't play in a Rock band.
Title: Re:do u like Buckethead?? Post by: matt88 on March 02, 2004, 06:41:59 AM No not really i'll fully judge 4 myself when or if the album comes out :hihi:

Nonsense, Buckethead has made some of the most emotional albums of all time. On stage he is one of the most original performers, it?s just doesn?t fit your picture of what a guitarist should be onstage. That doesn?t make it wrong. What is this with you telling everybody what a rockstar should be? Part of being rock-minded is being open-minded. It?s your parents who should be complaining about appearances not you. If everybody who looked a little strange in the history of Rock would have been regarded the way you are writing of people, rock would have been long gone?. You don?t know what the hell you are talking about. Buckethead has tons more feeling in his playing then Slash ever had. The thing you are confusing with feeling is bad tone and horrible bends, that?s the only thing Slash did next to being a showman. -PEACE- Title: Re:do u like Buckethead?? Post by: Captain P?l on March 02, 2004, 11:33:38 AM oh, you mean Buckethead isnt a ROCKTAR?!? yeah, i can see that :hihi:

This coming from someone who thinks Richard Fortus personifies "rock n roll"....... Title: Re:do u like Buckethead?? Post by: blues_rock_axeman on March 02, 2004, 03:01:03 PM Interesting that Buckethead said in an interview how he held disdain for the 'long haired guitar heroes' who most people looked up to.
Well, erm, he's a long haired guitarist himself... ??? Title: Re:do u like Buckethead?? Post by: Dizzy on March 02, 2004, 05:56:06 PM Nonsense, Buckethead has made some of the most emotional albums of all time. :hihi: Worshipped by millions, a future hall of famer no doubt. :P Quote Buckethead has tons more feeling in his playing then Slash ever had. Oh yes, Buckethead has tons of feeling doesn't he? So much feeling that he just stands there in his ridiculous outfit without moving a muscle. Buckethead has so much emotion he could easily pass as a scarecrow onstage. :P Quote The thing you are confusing with feeling is bad tone and horrible bends, that?s the only thing Slash did next to being a showman. Oh yes, all the classic, timeless riffs Slash wrote that everyone treasures and remembers are all bad tones and horrible bends. ::) And being a showman? Yeah, Slash was such a showman that he put on a Michael Myers mask and a chicken bucket on his head. ::) Get the fuck out of here. Title: Re:do u like Buckethead?? Yes players like Buckethead stand still a lot because playing so clean and intense requires an enormous effort to effect ratio. If they would waste a lot of energy on jumping and running they would sound just as bad as Slash did live. Quote Oh yes, all the classic, timeless riffs Slash wrote that everyone treasures Most were written by Izzy and a player who can?t play his own riffs live sucks beyond believe?.Damn Slash messed up those songs (Robin Finck-style)... Quote all bad tones and horrible bends. Exactly especially live. Outside the GNR community nobody makes a secret of that. It was plain bad. Quote And being a showman? Yes his only true quality? Quote Yeah, Slash was such a showman that he put on a Michael Myers mask and a chicken bucket on his head. No he put on a tophat and leather pants ans looked like a hells angels? dropout Quote Get the fuck out of here. I will do that once I found ?the fuck?!!!! Do you hear that ?the fuck?!?  -PEACE- Title: Re:do u like Buckethead?? Post by: Dizzy on March 04, 2004, 05:22:00 PM You remind me of one of the patients in One Flew over the Cuckoo's Nest.
And your "fuck" joke was stupid. Title: Re: do u like Buckethead?? Post by: axls earwax on April 17, 2005, 05:56:31 PM Yes. I like buckethead but I like Slash more ;)
Title: Re: do u like Buckethead?? Post by: Jamie on April 18, 2005, 11:20:56 AM NO I DO NOT
Title: Re: do u like Buckethead?? Post by: Sakib on April 18, 2005, 01:15:05 PM Buckethead rox! he looks relly funny and adds a lot of humour 2 the band especially his cheesy solos
Title: Re: do u like Buckethead?? Post by: Rob on April 19, 2005, 03:09:25 PM No, he may be a talented guitarist, but he's not GN'R material. You need more than talent to be in GN'R. You think back in '87 the GN'R guys would even hang out with a guy that looked and acted like Buckethead? Hell no.
Title: Re: do u like Buckethead?? Post by: Gunna_girl01 on June 22, 2005, 01:50:19 AM I personally think that he was not suited for the band..
he was good at what he did but i was watching a clip and it looked like he didnt even feel a rush from being onstage playing in Guns And Roses. he stood there like a soldier holding his quitar. im glad he has gone Title: Re: do u like Buckethead?? Post by: Twisted Nerve 85 on June 23, 2005, 04:50:32 PM Im not really that big of a fan of his. He gets too much hype cause of his goddamn gimmick. :peace:
Title: Re: do u like Buckethead?? Post by: Slipdisc on June 23, 2005, 06:20:20 PM That?s one of the most ignorant and shortsighted comments I?ve heard in recent years. Ever bothered to find out just the basics? It has nothing to do with a gimmick. It?s a result of his search to find total freedom of expression on stage, combined with a visual expression of everything that inspires him. Slash?s tophat or Axl?s bandana for that matter, are ten times more a gimmick then Buck being his own videoclip.

Wearing a KFC bucket has to do with freedom of expression? Give me a friggin' break. The guy's a weirdo with a stupid GIMMICK. Title: Re: do u like Buckethead?? Seriously, if it idiots (in comes the judgmental knowledge vacuum, aka you) could fly this place would be an airport. -PEACE- Title: Re: do u like Buckethead?? Post by: Rob on June 25, 2005, 02:01:48 AM Yes, with witty little quips like that airport one, you're obviously one of the more intelligent people on this board. A visual expression of everything that inspries him? You're right, when I'm eating any kind of poultry that's when I'm at my most artistic. I heard Axl wrote Estranged when he was snacking on some popcorn chicken.
-PEACE- Title: Re: do u like Buckethead?? Post by: mrlee on June 25, 2005, 09:30:51 AM I hate him totally, his entire performing style is pathetic, talk about a boring performer, just stands there looking left and right. Hardly DID anything in GnewR just look at the ohter 2 guitarist playing, then look at his, super slow strumming, shows hes not doing much. Hes just a total ass. Masks are a slipknot thing, the bucket is just cheap. That coat......im not even gonna comment on that one.
