Just wondering if Izzy's still married to Annika?  Seen some recent pictures of him without his wedding ring.

I never knew he was married.  When did he and Annika get married?

I had heard he wasn't but it's hard to say with Izzy.  He keeps his personal life out of the media.

I don't remember seeing one when I met him, but then again i wasn't looking.

It depends if he was playing guitar. Because if he was, he'd probably have removed it for a while, cos it gets stuck in the strings and crap.

Still, it's Izzy's life. I think we all wish him the best in whatever he does. And hope he works with VR  ;D

yeah i agree with you. i think the media didn?t even recognize him when he was still in gnr :hihi:   he was like the guy who was just there, but you didn?t even see him.   if you watch an old gnr show for example you really have to look for him...

 not that I know of all i know about her is that she is swedish and that Izzy divorced her a few years ago

sadly this last thing is true, it took some effort to see Izzy sometimes, more when it comes to the UYI first leg of the tour

He was hard to spot at the end of his GN'R time cause he wasn't digging it anymore. And the bastards turned his amp down so he had to stay close to his amps. In the early years he moved alot more. At the end you can't even see him smile.

But even when he stould still he still looked cool 8)

Does anyone know how they met? Was it here in Sweden or somewhere else?

Axl and Slash thought Izzy wasn't giving 100% on stage like they did, he wasn't moving around like them and so they turned his guitar down. Same was with the UYI albums where Izzy's guitar is burried in the mix. GN'R was a band with 5 different personalities... and Izzy didn't dig it anymore at the end, it shows cause he doesn't move much like the years before and he doesn't smile. The music had taken a backseat to all the bullshit, the drugs and booze ( Izzy was clean since '89) the riots, the showing up late of Axl. At the end he was spending more time with the roadies then the rest of the guys. He showed up half an hour before the gig and left right after, travelled by bus while the rest with a plane. Cause by bus it was faster and cheaper. The rest had to wait a few hours in a jet plane cause Axl was blowdrying his hair.

And at the end Axl gave Izzy a contract which said to give him a cut in his paycheck... that was the final drop, he left then after first checking his bankacount ;)

absolutely true what you say here and in your next post, and yes i know that Izzy used to move a lot in the early years, and smiled backthen too. As a matter of fact, when they got together you can see some Izzy Stradlin having fun in rock in rio 91, but from then on, it just went down the hill. I?m not sure about slash, but axl sure was tripping on him and on the rest of the band at some point, no matter how much he denies it, i really think his lawyers and some assessors were influencing him in the wrong way, and he?s tempted for a little touch of evil always.

He does deserve it<Axl even admitted once to using him for his song writting saying hewas glad he got the songs out of him he did before Izyy left

don?t know if he still feels the same way, but it sure wasn?t the way everybody else in the band was thinking at that particular time, and what a fuckhead!!!!

It's sad it had to come down to that after all theywent through together,I think maybe Axl was feeling more hurt then he would say when izy left and the way he reacted was too lash out :smoking:

Izzy was not very appreciated.... That man is one hell of a guitar player! HE IS AMAZING.. I guess it takes more then those ding dongs to figure it out

Yeah he was loaded in a plane and he had to take a piss. But the toilet was occupied and there was a long waiting line so instead he pissed in a trashcan in the ile. Then he went back to his seat. And after the plane had landed he got out of it and saw the police waiting for him and suddenly the other passengers and a flight attended where pointing at him. ;D

I wasnt there, but I loved reading the reviews from folks who went.  If I wasnt expecting Izzy, and he just showed up, I think I would collapse from shock  :hihi:

What I find really really funny is that the first group photo of newGNR has Izzy in it lol. I use that as my wallpaper.

i remember that bit in Donnington!  izzy said that and zxl said "last i remember, you werent in the band" - but it was said with great humour and affection and they both hugged and looked v happy.

what really made me laugh was when they were playing I used to love her and axl was doing the chorus for the billionth time and Izzy sort of looked at axl like (ah, this is the final time) - then axl started yet another chorus singalong again and Izzy loked all confused and had to start playing again!  so funny.

was lucky enough to meet Izzy at donington - he was right next to me, playing guitar for a couple of really young fans with their dad - he was really friendly and seemed very happy to be a part of it all.  he was a lot taller than i expected tbh.
