I tell you, it's all a big conspiracy to hide the fact that GH is CD in disguise.

Nice.  Old logo, old font.. yeah, this is really gonna make people connect with GNR 2.0, I'm sure.  Sigh..

Yeah no kidding... ::) That's my main concern about that GH. I don't care about the concept of having a GH for GN'R, but that old line-up stuff is just completely against what the band has been trying to build since 1999...

Yep, totally unfortunate.  I fear that 'no good can come of this'.  This release serves no valid purpose, IMO, except to dilute the GNR name.  Lets say CD DOES come out a month after this disc with a different band logo, a different font, an entirely different packaging scheme - John Q. Public is gonna be like "Umm, which one is Guns n' Roses?"

Perhaps they should have called it "Greatest Hits: 1987-1994", similar to how Live Era was titled. Then again, that was an Axl stamp-of-approval release : ok:

THe release of this album proves fundamentally that record company's are fucking retarded when it comes knowing how to promote bands properly...

I don't get it?? if they want to release cd... i'm sure they could make axl do it... he's not the godfather or anything...

Its a Greatest Hits, why would it try to promote the new band?

So you dont mind a Greatest Hits, but you have a problem with the "old line-up stuff"?  What do you suggest then?  Including hits that this band doesnt have?

To me, that old line-up stuff just drives home the point that GNR has seen its best days.

Haha, this is going to dilute the GNR name???  I guess youre not familiar with the last ten years of this bands existence?  Although, like I said, it makes GNR look like its really over (and it is, to everyone but a few), featuring the real Guns N' Roses' best work on one album is hardly diluting the name.  In fact, it might be one of the only things left to remind us of when they were great.

Its "purpose" is the same as every other GH collection - to give casual fans an opportunity to have all of their favorite songs on one album.

If "John Q. Public" is over the age of 15, he already knows the answer to that... : ok:

I agree, the new GN'R have no greatest hits, and the real GN'R fans would like a greatest hits :)
