Title: Does NIN tour impact GNR? Post by: smeagol2124 on February 17, 2004, 09:27:11 PM Since the news is that NIN will be headlining lollapalooza this summer, does that effect Robin's status at all?
Title: Re:Does NIN tour impact GNR? Post by: erose on February 17, 2004, 09:37:33 PM interesting...
if he's not touring with them, it means there will for sure be a gn'r tour this summere... won't it? Title: Re:Does NIN tour impact GNR? Post by: AxlsMainMan on February 17, 2004, 09:37:34 PM no i dont think it does as NIN has always been the sole brainchild of Trent Reznor and the other members are basically hired by the record company. NIN has survived without Robin and i imagine they will again, yet maybe Robin will play if nothing is goin on in GNR land by then :-\

When was there an announcement there would be a Lollapalooza this summer, let alone Nails headlining? Better show some sources... Title: Re:Does NIN tour impact GNR? Post by: Sukie on February 17, 2004, 11:24:26 PM There's a rumor over at velvetrope.com that NIN will headline Lollapalooza. Of course, I've read soooo many things that didn't come to pass over there that I still wouldn't consider that a source. :-\

NIN doesn't even have a record coming out, do they? Lil' help? Title: Re:Does NIN tour impact GNR? Post by: Sukie on February 17, 2004, 11:51:36 PM I think they are supposed to have an album coming out before the end of the year...I'm having to google since I'm not a big NIN fan. ;) Damn slow computer.... >:(
Ok.. screw it. Look for it yourself, Falcon. I've tried to be a nice person...lol Here's a link and all that I saw was that Reznor is writing new material for a follow-up to 1999's The Fragile. No release date has been scheduled. :-\ http://www.theninhotline.net/news/index.php Originally from : http://www.mtv.com/news/articles/1484837/20040205/story.jhtml As far as a NIN tour impacting GN'R, why would it? (my little concession to being on topic!) :hihi: Title: Re:Does NIN tour impact GNR? Post by: killingvector on February 18, 2004, 12:04:27 AM well if robin leaves to tour, i'm sure it would affect any plans of a tour.....god, what the hell is this band doing?
Title: Re:Does NIN tour impact GNR? Post by: HoldenCaulfield on February 18, 2004, 12:19:19 AM Nah. From now on, Robin is a full-fledged member of Guns N' Roses. Trust me :peace:

Robin is in Gnr not nin. Title: Re:Does NIN tour impact GNR? Post by: HoldenCaulfield on February 18, 2004, 12:36:13 AM No, I'm not an "insider", but I will say I regularly talk to someone very close to GNR. I don't get a lot of inside information, but I'm told if there's anything to be concerned about :)

(my little concession to being on topic!) :hihi: Thanks Sukie, looks as though Trent's in LA working with Rick Rubin. As for a NIN tour affecting GNR, I suppose if Axl were to release CD and tour on it, Robin would more than likely want to play songs he helped create in a live setting. On the other hand, if things remain quiet on the GNR front and Trent moves forward with a tour, I'm sure Robin would be up for it. Hell, musicians like to play, who could blame him? Title: Re:Does NIN tour impact GNR? Post by: Christos AG on February 18, 2004, 08:55:47 AM According to a post by Mysteron, Robin will not tour with NIN this summer.
Title: Re:Does NIN tour impact GNR? Post by: jarmo on February 18, 2004, 12:23:11 PM Just because Robin was once part of NIN doesn't mean he'll tour with them forever.
They've changed members before..... /jarmo Title: Re:Does NIN tour impact GNR? Post by: carmiedisco12 on February 18, 2004, 12:25:15 PM According to a post by Mysteron, Robin will not tour with NIN this summer
well must be true then. Depending on the staus of the new CD, I tend to think that Robin must be VERY, VERY near telling Axl to shove it as he clearly stated his frustration at Axl's tardiness way back in 99. Does anyone believe he is less pissed of nowadays. Title: Re:Does NIN tour impact GNR? Hypothetically. if Axl has no release of CD in the offing and no tour scheduled while Reznor does and would ask Robin to participate, Finck would decline Trent's offer and remain dormant with Axl and company? No offense here guys, buts that's whacky. Robin bolted during an inactive period before and prior actions dictate he'd do it again. The precedent is already set. As I stated above, if the two (NIN and Axl) were to go head to head with a tour, I have no doubt Robin would stay on board with Axl and tour on music he helped create. Title: Re:Does NIN tour impact GNR? Post by: GnrAxl4life on February 18, 2004, 01:36:44 PM As far as i know Red Hot Chilli Peppers will be headlining Lollapalooza. As far as NIN last time there was any talk bout a tour Trent said they would not tour anymore.

I agree with you there. You would think Robin would enjoy being in GNR more considering he atleast has a little bit of creative input in the new music. I believe Trent pretty much does all the NIN music by himself and has a band join him for a tour. Title: Re:Does NIN tour impact GNR? Post by: HoldenCaulfield on February 18, 2004, 07:44:35 PM You don't have to believe me, but *someone* told me that Robin is still in GNR and has no plans to leave anytime soon.

Title: Re:Does NIN tour impact GNR? Post by: HoldenCaulfield on February 18, 2004, 08:00:03 PM I'd rather not divulge who I know or talk to. It's probably against their wishes. Sorry :-\
