how often should one clean it? i just went over my fretboard with my (old) toothbrush... worked like hell :D i also polished the gold on it! damn, it shines like new! :peace: Title: Re:Cleaning Your Guitar! Post by: AdZ on February 17, 2004, 03:24:55 PM Dr. Stringfellow is great for fretboards..
Title: Re:Cleaning Your Guitar! Post by: AxlsPiano on February 17, 2004, 04:48:10 PM I use Dunlop Formula 65 and a soft cloth to wipe the guitar down, works really well. I use some stuff called Lizard Spit for the fretboard. Makes it smell nice
oh and as for how often, i clean the guitar and fretboard everytime i change my strings, then ill maybe polish the guitar a week or two later, then change my strings again in like another 2 weeks. It makes your fingers all greasy and makes wierd squeaky sounds when you do slides.I just use some Lemon oil every few string changes to keep the fingerboard in a decent condition.
