When asked about Axl's appearance at recent concerts, most Gunners tend to say that he still looks remarkably fit.  However, there is one question that few can know the real answer to: Axl's hair.  Many have said that Axl is actually going bald, that his current hair is mostly extensions.  I don't know if that's more than just a rumour, although I know that most 40-year-old men don't have braids.  So I was hoping that maybe we could compile enough evidence in this thread to discover once and for all the true nature of Axl's hair.

So far, all I've got is this quote from the Metal Sludge Hair Chart:

Rumor has it he's thinning fast.  

(H. = Means they wear a Head Band or Hat and are trying to hide it.

well he had nice thick hair at rio and vegas

his hair was much thicker at rio however he was wearing a different hair style, it seemed to be more layered and parted in the middle instead of parted on the side

honestly i see nothing wrong with a hair transplant, shit if i start goin bald one day im gonna get one, fuck being bald, its still his hair so i dont think it really matters

who the fuck cares about axls hair. who the fuck cares what metal sludge has to say. WHta is so hard to understand that some of it is his hair and some of it is extensions.

I can settle this its very easy even though I hardly see how axl hair has any relevance what so ever. Just look at the ritz videos when he isnt wearing a bandana and when he pulls his hair all the way back, his hairline has not moves an inch since then. The braids pull his hair back as far as it will go and reveal all of his hairline, thats it.

If Axl is going bald.. I doubt he'd put his hair in braids.. people say it diverts attention away from the fact he is going bald.. NO WAY.. with braids the dude has no fringe so if there IS a receeding hair line we'd soon see.. people just arent used to seeing Axl with his hair pulled back and being able to see his full forehead.. simple!  : ok: :peace:

It's his choice what style of hair he wants, what he wears, what he does.  Just like we all  have that freedom. Having recently watched early Roxy shows you can see he has always had thin hair.

Kirk hammet was going bald but uses Rogain (as said by himself in Q) Baldness is a common thing and if people find ways of dealing with it whats the problem?  If it helps their confidence then who's business is it but their own?  We have a very nosey society.

Besides, I believe that you're not able to make braids at any age. You always need some fake hair to add to it and you should have known by now.

not about the thread but just  a hair question... if you get your hair braided like axl you would have to have extra long hair being when you twist it it gets shorter and his braides were very long.. Does anyone think he had extensions to his natural hair... Now before anyone goes nuts I said extensions not a hair transplant,plugs or a weave..

I think he had extensions or a weave.  But, none of us really know whether he is truly going bald or not, since no one ever sees him or knows him.   But, you know what, if I were a famous rock musicion, and I WERE going bald, I'd run to my nearest hair salon and get help!  or wear some very cool hats!   

This post is really a waste of time, but I'm going to say this anyway...

Axl's hair has nothing to do with ANYTHING we should be worrying about.  Its his HAIR for crying out loud!  Does it effect his singing?  No.  Chinese Democracy?  No.  So don't worry about it.  We could be spending time posting much more interesting things.

why does asking if he had extensions added to his already natural hair need to be a problem... if you are a big axl gnr fan then a look is just as big of a conversation piece as a tour or song... I asked because his braides were very long whcih would mean his hair would have had to be even longer to have that length braides.. All I wanted to know if he might have added to his hair like many famous people do these days

BTW, I'm convinced Slash has weaves, as well.? He has all his own thick hair, but weaves to make it a little longer.? I could be wrong, but it looks like it.? ?

most  of the people that uses braids like axl's uses extentions.. you need to have a really big amount of hair... to wear those braids...

Actually, it was stated by Howard "The King of All Media" Stern shortly after the fact. His staff has a way of digging up accurate celebrity info. later.

But Scott Weiland at a VR concert said that Axl is bald, infact he said he is FAT and bald.  So it must be true, right?  ;)

Scott also said some shitty things about GNR(and other 80's early 90's bands) back in the mid 90's, and now he's in a band with several of those members. :o

Scott will, of course, diss Axl.? Of course he's going to call him "fat & bald".

Has anyone considered that braids is the lazy hairstyle? Maybe the man is tired of washing and brushing and f@#%ing with it! I would hate for Axl to be going bald because I really don't find bald men attractive and his hair is so GD gorgeous! But if he did get extensions who cares? Its his hair~ he paid for it! (I bet he even has a reciept!)

If he releases CD, he could have a pink mohawk for all I care. Hearing some awesome music is what I care about. Most GNR fans probably agree with me here.

Well, as a lady (and I use that term very lightly), The music is just a bonus for me. Yeah, it is awesome music, but the man with the red hair is what reeled me in. A pink mohawk would not be as appealing. He's still got a hot bod, but for I, nothing is sexier than red hair. I mean I used to think RON HOWARD was hot!
