12/02 - msg show - un fuckin real

« on: February 20, 2004, 11:10:59 AM »

The MTV commercial has been either cancelled or never was going to happen anyway. At the time I posted, it was supposed to happen, now...nothing.

I think its time we all face it...WE are LOSERS, and Axl could give a flying shit less about his fans.

ITS FUCKING 2004!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 10 years have gone by people...10 YEARS....not 2 years, 10!!!!!!!!!!!!! thats a HUGE number!!!!!

There are no rehearsals with the band (everyone is out doing their own solo thing), there is no CD about to be released, Rio is probably NOT happening.

Axl and the record company tried in 2002, but Axl fell through yet again (even though the concert was awesome) and I think thats it. The label is obviously putting out a GH cuz they know its DONE.  How old were you 10 yrs ago??? i was 17, i am now 27, and nothing has really changed. Yea...some new songs, some new band members. But the proof would have been a cd, and NOTHING.

We are the fools! YOU are a fool for even reading this or this website. Guns was what is was b/c of AXL, and nows its been dead, b/c of AXL.

And i think we've all underestimated just how important Izzy was!

What you just said is so true, But its not quite the end of feb near enough, u've made me re-think this now, maybe the greatest hits is meant to close the Guns N' Roses full stop.

...
And i think we've all underestimated just how important Izzy was!

In 2002 Axl said at VMA "I dont know if 'soon' is the word' - so you are wrong, they didnt try to release it then.

That supposed MTV ad was stupid anyway (no sound - WTF?!)  So i'm glad it's gone.

The press release for GH made no mention of newGNR - that worries me...

No, we are not losers if indeed GNR is over.  We're here b/c of the memory of their great music (most of us anyway).  Some are here to start rumors, and others are here to blindly worship Axl.

Only thing I agree with you is:
Izzy Stradlin is awesome   ok

Very few believed your silly MTV commerical rumor anyway. The other guys aren't doing their own things. Tommy has no tour dates scheduled, Robin's done nothing. I see nothing but an open spring and summer calendar for all the members.

Whether or not the album ever comes out is still a huge mystery. This soap opera feeling isn't new. It's been this way for the past 4 years. Rio IV will reveal everything.

What is the difference between those 2? To call people blind worshipers is being hypocritical. If the past was so great then why are people deemed axl worshipers if they think he can have that same success again.

I'll wait until Lisbon... ! After that... well, I'll have "contraband" in my hands and maybe I will face it... If it's done, then it's done.

But the band should say something.. at some point ! At least good bye !!!
oopps !!! and what if Lisbon was set up to say good bye !!!.. just a thought.

certainely not!. it was a band project! in add SLASH was more popular than Axl back in the days. Slash was bigger in the band than Axl.

First off,
I believe most people here hope for Axl to have success again, otherwise why be on this board? (unless to start rumors)

The difference is: the 1st group of people understand that the great music came not from 1 single person, but from a band of great musicians.  Whether it's the old band, or the new band, the focus is on the BAND.

The 2nd group of people dont seem to care that (IMO).  It's all about Axl.  They cant tolerate the slightest criticism of him in any way.  I'm sure you've seen people like that on this board.

And finally (original post), just b/c one supposed MTV commercial airs or not does not justify saying that the band is over, and that the fans are losers.

Ur rumour didn't come true? Wow, that came as a shock..... Roll Eyes

I think its time we all face it...WE are LOSERS, and Axl could give a flying shit less about his fans.

Maybe your a loser but most of the people on this board aren't. Axl doesn't give a damn about his fans? Hell that was true in 1985 - ur a bit slow to catch on.

ITS FUCKING 2004!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 10 years have gone by people...10 YEARS....not 2 years, 10!!!!!!!!!!!!! thats a HUGE number!!!!!

Ur right 'Chinese Democracy' was begun in 1994 (and named that year)

However - in that time the band has hardly been static - over 20 musicians have worked on this project including old schools favs like Izzy, Duff and Matt

Only since Buckethead joined in 1999 has only real progress going to have been made - 5 years isn't extraordinary for an album.

If you are indeed 27 id say its about f*ki*g time you get a life and stop posting lies. You could also leave out NEWS from your title when inventing rumours itll make you look more credible. Tongue

About your OPINIONS; yes i agree not having nothing to show but a bunch of songs in 10 years is disapointing, but Mysterons post yesterday saying CD and a tour should be confirmed by May gives me at least hope.

If Axl cares for his fans or not i do not know or really care, if the music is good its good enough for me.

In fact i dont think CD was ever about the fans in Axls eyes, its all about him being able to prove to himself and the sceptics he can come back and make GnR the biggest band again. ok

well, if CD is supposed to be about how Axl proves himself to the world (and probably to himself), then I'd say he FAILED, miserably.

Its OVER...we keep hanging onto little things that just never materialize. Now we have to wait till May, then come June, when nothing has happened, there will be some rumor that GnR are finishing up the final mixes and it will be released in August, and they will tour Europe. Then, in Sept., when nothing happened again, we'll be told to wait till Nov. when the new single is coming out. Its all very stupid and senseless.

Yeah, but five years of promises isn't good for album too.
